To the OP:
That's the price you have to pay for pugstombing and inflating your Eloranking. As Nelson would say: HAHA

But fear noz. After enough losses your ranking will be at the supposed level and you will finally be able to kill an Noob ECM Raven ;-)

The OP was in a dragon.
Why did it even matter that much that they had ECM? It's not like he was depending on missiles hitting them.

Of course he's depending on missiles hitting them. You are not alone in the field, you know?

In a nutshell it's streaks

ECM is a bad bad bad bad....(and another one) bad system. But it's not the issue. It's streaks.

This.

Well I'm more okay with ECM. But Streak boating ravens with ECM really inflame the issue.

I can't believe steaks haven't been dealt with yet. It has beeeeen months since the devs stated they would be fixed by locking onto random sections of the mech including legs. This has yet to be done and honestly, that is still not good enough. Seriously we are playing a Mechwarrior game where STREAK SRM2s are the most OP weapon...how does that happen?

To be fair, I love the game and the devs! You guys are doing a great job! No sarcasm :-)

I have gotten exactly 0 of my friends to stick with MWO. None of them play for more than a week. They tell me they like the big robots and cool blowing up stuff, but they know **** all about the game and they know it, and they don't have anywhere they can go to change that or test things. ECM is up there on the list, as well as not having a chatroom/lobby. I asked them to come here and say that, but who knows if they did or not, I'm not going to bother them with it that's their prerogative.

If you can't handle losing, sometimes badly, then go play Hello Kitty's island Adventure. This game may not be your cup of tea. 4 of any mech variant when piloted by average players useing concentrated fire and coordinating in TS , vent, c3 etc. is going to make you frustrated. Grow up and deal with it or go away. This is the prelude to a war against an enemy with far superior technology. And you are bitching already!! Can you just imagine the ********* we'll hear once clans arrive?

Just wait till collisions come back. Then you can step on them. Literally.

Collisions + repair costs both coming back will stop 3Ls from entering combat, trust me.

At 400k (purchase price) for the ECM package alone, the repairs on those 3Ls will be unpleasant, to say the least. You'll probably start to see Ravens employed more as skirmising snipers than close-in combat mechs. The other ECM mechs you'll likely see employed a lot less often too - people will want to maximise their profits.

It's just a matter of when, rather than if - it just worries me how much longer we'll have to wait and how many new players will be turned off by this current trend.

I had no idea R&R was coming back? What did I miss?

Besides - it's only a problem if you're destroyed. I rarely am in my 3L tbh.

And that is why "balancing" items with R&R is not a good idea lol.

I will admit... the game isn't as fun as it was before ECM were introduced. At least in pug matches, where you depend on sensor data from allies (who don't really type in chat or are to busy fighting to chat) to know where anything is and whats going on, ECM hits this hard in its current state.

Also using LRMs is a pain in pugs now. A Catapult C1 was my favorite mech, Then ECMs rendered anything but assaults, that are capable of having more weapons with LRMs, near useless. Or at least more of a pain than its worth.

That wont fix the predominance of 3Ls in light mechs. The number of light mechs that are 3Ls is not balanced.

Well if it's the best then it's going to get used especially during this event. My friend yesterday rage quit vs Raven 3L...but he was in a Jenner so what do you expect...of course he got killed. I happened to drop on the opposite team as them because they were 3 manning and I was participating in this solo q event.

My solo q ended up winning...maybe due to the fact that I told them who they needed to focus down if they wanted to win on kills.

My experience so far is that if you and your team mates can hit their shots then you will have no problems. Not being able to target something isn't actually that big of a deal. A good raven 3L will only focus down other lights OR do hit and run style attacks once he realizes the enemy team can aim because that's the best he can do.

There's ALWAYS going to be a best and worst chassis and I actually don't mind ECM that much. If you want "balance" then you want to totally get rid of hard points or make everything super generic. That's actually boring. It's FUN when you beat the OP chassis with something everyone else considers sub par.

R&R isn't coming back. That's the last word from the Devs.

Yeah, I've seen several. Granted, one had MGs, but still.

But I didn't play much between the time they started logging ELO and when it started effecting MM, so maybe I wasn't tuned down as far by people who thought high ELO is always a good thing?

That's interesting considering the 3L has two missile and three energy hard points.

I think the only mistake of PGI (or Bryan in particular) is to believe that ECM is not overpowered because not every player is using a DDC, 3L or any other ECM 'Mechs.

I'm not saying that ECM IS overpowered, but this "style of thought" is just wrong.

I know those three thugs........nefarious devils all !!!!! One drives a Cat 90% of the time and one a Centurion, the one that stole the OP's lunch money has only been playing MWO for the best part of 2 weeks. You guys got thumped by three guys working together as a team.
