So I have to lose 770 matches before I can start winning on a regular basis again? I ask cause I just want to be ok with getting kicked around for the better part of a month again.

Piloting an Atlas ~50% of my time In can say that this often is very situational ...
if the enemy team is organized enough to focus fire and picks the Atlas as their Prime target (wise choice, epecially if it is an As7-D-DC) the Atlas can be dead in seconds ... despite his heavy armor
After all the Atlas is huge and slow and therefore makes the perfect target.
I have experienced both situations with my Atlas ... being dead before being able to inflict much damage, as well as being on the top of the scoreboards with >= 800 dmg and multiple kills
As for the ELO:
I definitely like it.
Taking Statistics of my battles since last Friday (the official Profile statistics IMHO are too watered down, considering that they are taking from the beginning on, with several changes in the system) I can say that the numbers of 8:0(8:1 results has decreased considerably (well, I didn´t take statistics before that, but from anecdotical evidence I would say that before there was 8:0/8:1 in >= 50% of the cases) ...
my statistics show an Avg of 7.1 / 2.67 in Kill Ratios of Winner/Loser with a StdDev of ~2 for both.
Only 42 of the 142 battles that I recorded resulted in 7+/0-1 .. with other words less than 30% of the battles.
The one thing that IMHO should improve is the pairing according to similar mech weights.
According to one thread there was a double lance with 5 ECM-Ravens (and 3 other mechs) against 8 Medium/Heavy/Assualt mechs (with only one light mech) and no ECM ... it is clear that in this battle the ECM ravens won without any effort

Im not complaining about the 4 mans anymore, now im just bathing in the tears of the ones that only got their high W/L rates because they ran in 4 mans. It is beautiful to see their frustrations spilled out across multiple threads. A good player in a mech of any weight class, will always edge out a bad player in a mech of any weight class. I wouldnt mind an asslt for an asslt, but, im not gonna cry about it either. Chances are one of those will be a trial asslt ran by Johnny McNew Guy anyways.
Can a mod combine this thread w the one above it, or clue me in on how to do so? Sorry.
Oblivious troll is obvious...but by golly I'll bite.
I loved the matches before, and I love the matches now with ELO even better. Before I could be lazy and get away with not coordinating with my fellow team and we would still stomp. Now with ELO I am forced to focus and try and coordinate with the team, pay attention to my positioning, and actually use team chat and the map commander functions.
I lose a lot more, but nearly every game is close and enjoyable and now I see many of the same players in my matches which is great. I am a huge fan of the ELO matching. My only gripe is matching up of weights seems a bit wonky at times.
Anywho flame on.

I would ask you though.. if your so pro, why not take that skill to the 8 man queue where you can find a better challenge. Wasn't 38-2 a little repetitive/boring?
I personally, like a challenge.

8man sucks balls off the walls because it's all D DCs, Cataphracts, and 3L Ravens. There's no attempt at matchmaking balance once so ever. Sure, if those rides I mentioned are all you ever want to play, then queue for 8s. If not, then you better not queue it unless you like eating the boot of cheese teams, which then brag and gloat because they were able to win by bringing the best rides to a totally broken system. I should also point out that there is no increased rewards. So the MM is broken for 8mans, the game balance is even farther in the ground, and you're not even properly rewarded for your trouble. Enjoy.

Ah so, you have to play against minmax, cheese and ecm builds. I wonder where i have experienced that before.
