Yep. Trolling.

Yup. "Troll" == "Pissed off customer". That must be the tweener fanboy dictionary.

Plain fact; login screen did not indicate lack of resets. News article posted 3 days before indicated might happen in 18 days. Anyone just logging in to blow an hour every few days and not reading all their email spam gets ripped off by the company.

Pretty straight forward trick. Insult me all you want for getting caught by it, but call it anything other than an intentional underhanded strategy they pulled and you just indicate you've probably been caught by similar ones before and don't even realize it.

Dude, given that seemingly every other person in the entire game was able to figure out what was going on, it wasn't really much of a "trick" on PGI's part.

All I see the OP doing is blaming everyone for himself for spending something. That tends to be the consumer's fault, particularly when the majority seems to have known about the what the OP claims was not readily available. All I can say to the OP is to become a smarter consumer. I'f I'm buying something, or invested in something, even casually, i read up on it so I know what the hell is going on.

Readng comprehension isn't taught in schools, I see.

The MC was spent on November 2nd. The news article was posted on Oct 26. MC refunds apparently ceased on .. Oct 29.

It's amazing how much logic defies all you tweeners.

1. Every Reading Comprehension test I have taken has ranked me at 98+ percentile. That means I comprehend the written word better than 98% of the population out there.

2. Prior to October they warned everyone multiple times that come Open Beta there would be no more MC resets. It was nearly impossible to not know unless you actively chose to not pay attention. At which point it is still not PGI's fault.

3. Tweener? Really? I have a teenage daughter and I didn't have kids till I was about to turn 30. Do the math.

4. I work 40+ hours a week, plus have kids, and friends, and other social obligations. You are just ignorant and unobservant.

I wouldn't go so far, never attribute to malice what can adequately be explained by stupidity. :)

Yes. I am stupid for not reading my email for 3 days before loging into a video game and playing it by the same patterns I did for the last month.

My god how foolish of me! To be tired.. from working.. and just wanting to play a video game.

Not sure what's funnier, the fact I got caught by a silly trick, or the humorous replies I read here defending it.

There was no trick, because they did inform you, you just simply ignored it.

Heck, besides the forums, the main page (at the time), the email I got (and still have), the patch notes from the switch to open-beta (okay, not always the easiest to find), I also remember the client stating that in the feed as well for at least a week.

I'm pretty sure they are not legally obligated to visit you personally for this stuff. Plus, if this was their master plan as a scam, it failed miserably. Following the ineptitude of telling people what was going to happen, they netted one guy. I'm not sure if that even counts as a scam. Semi-literate, English-as-a-third-language, Nigerian teenagers have a higher success rate posing as exiled nobility.

Plus, they took the scam WAY to far. They are actually creating a game that works. That took a lot of effort. And money. Yea, as a scam, this is the worst one I have ever heard of!

------------------

For the record (since you went to the "real life" defense on this one):
  • 3 kids (Dance Team, Little League, and diapers!)
  • Registered Professional Engineer and Geologist = Full Time job (and then some)
  • Manager (job title)
  • Still married!!!
  • Have my own house (not mom's basement)
And... still got the word. I sorta feel bad if you didn't. But I'm not sure how anyone could have possibly have physically gotten word to you.

Reading comprehension lacks in your household, yes?

Indeed. Ashamed I have a full time job and don't live all day on some video game forum to read all the obscure hidden facts that try to redefine a "Beta" game as an "Opened" game for the plain fact they make it "Public".

Be fanboys all you want; it was not plastered everywhere for a normal casual player waiting for standard opening to commence to see, and with a 3 day window between their general notice without a public meaning of that on login.. it's an obvious scam.

If you don't read an email that says "Open Beta means no more MC reset" and you login 3 days later to see "Open Beta!" on login, but nothing on that screen to say "No more reset", and then just spend MC like any other reset... you had your money fleeced from you.

Trying to defend that obvious fact by saying "your not an unemployed fanboy who reads the 200 mails you receive a day and just login to the game once a week" just makes you all sound more silly.

so you didn't see t the open beta is coming, on the home page, you have at game launcher either?
and the links on the same page for the detailed info linking you straight to the info you needed on the forums?

ps
i have a full time job as well as other things to do,
I probably play 5 games a day on work days if that, and i still had np finding info.

my friend you failed, sorry to say it but you did.

They can talk all they want prior to October; take a look at the date they stopped selling the accounts.

Not tha tlogic has anything to do with any of the replies here.

And yes, tweener. It's the best way to describe the reading comprehension and intelligence level of the people here. Perhaps I shouldn't assume so much based on their statements.

Look, since at this point, your only defense seems to be that we can't read what you said, why don't you try dumbing down for the legions of thirty-something nerds tweeners that are replying to you? Break it down, step by step.

Bro...uhhhh sup?

If i spend even just $1 on something lets say a cheeseburger I pay attention to that beast until I have consumed it and no longer have to worry about it. You just spent over $100 on something decided it wasnt worth your attention and threw it under the rug.

This is why most of us are baffled.

Nobody can be this obtuse, I call troll.

Well, they can, in which case IDK if mockery or pity is truly in order. It's a conundrum.

My failure was never in doubt. The design and goal of the company to milk a bit more out of people with such a small failure is the point.

Dude is obsessed with some "tweeners."

Sir, I have a job and yet have the time to not only play this game, be aware of what goes on in it, and produce the Violent Combat Robots Show, a podcast about said game. If you can't be bothered to pay attention to how you spend your money or MC, that is no concern of ours. You lose, sir, good day.

You should all know that as Allen typed this he put in his monocle, doffed his top hat, turned on his cuban heels and left.

Actually no, you're stupid for coming here and whining about it on the forums, you're just ignorant for what led to you posting here. Trust me, you posting here has been one of the funniest things for me so far today. Please keep it up. Although the first rule to get out of a hole is stop digging, but I doubt you even want out now.

In case you didn't notice, not everyone has 4 hours a day to read all the volumes of poorly organized information this company had on the website at the time; nor did I have a matter of days to find it before all this occurred.
