heh sorry guys, we were running 4 atlas to help beat the boredom and got paired with another 4 man of 3 and a ilya.

A fine example that even with a good match maker in place, the ability to stack 50% of a public team, can break the system.

WoT platoon impact is 20%, th eaverage win rate of players is 49%.

MWOs 4 man impact, 50%, and can defeat Elaine sometimes. What I see is, some guys with inflated ELO's, lacking in skill who lost bad to guys who are running in 4 mans to pad their stats.

I guess the 8 man queue.. is jsut something the pros never wanted right? Who was adamently requesting it again?

"Lacking in skill?" Unless you're driving Clan 'Mechs here, facing off against a team almost double your tonnage sounds less like "bad players" and more like "running square into a brick wall of ****."

Don't know what's worse: the matchup of the two teams, or the fact that the Atlas players were apparently ****talking the other team, telling them that they suck during the match.

Pretty easy to hurl insults from behind 300 extra tons of ego-padding endo steel.

Look, don't take it personally. Let me rephrase, my delivery can be barsh at times but give me a chance to clarfiy. Elaine thought you guys were closely paired, or it was the tail end of her desperately trying to match "someone" vs those two 4 mans. 2. the danger of having 4 mans which can overly influence individual pub matches due to their size in ratio to the entire team size.

Yet your title resounds in, this is Elaines fault, and you OP does as well. I think we can call this a spurrious relationship at best.

Grow the community, Elaine needs all the variables she can to throw into her formulas.

The community size and 4 man dominance issues, are closely connected. PGI, you have drug your feet on addressing this for a very long time. When will you finally do something about it?

Cue founder army flaming me, whilst screaming lances are 4 guys, and canon this and that, and the other side of the argument that the devs jsut got 8v8 un-laggy, and only intend to go to 12 v 12, so too bad so sad right?

Well these kind of matches, while rarer now with Elaine, will continue to happen all to often as long as the dev team leaves the mechanics in place (4 mans) which allow it to happen.

I didn't play in this game, but I get what you mean. My single biggest concern is that this is somehow "ok." I don't see much wrong with 4-mans as long as there's another 4-man on the other team, and there usually was in Phase 2. But 7 Assaults and a Heavy versus...that? That's a huge issue. It's one thing to get a moron in an Atlas on your team that spawns a guy in a D-DC who knows what he's doing on the other. It's quite another to have a high ELO score but be screwing around in a silly Trebuchet build or something and be told "here's 3 idiots in trial 'Mechs, you're good, carry them. Oh, and the other team has 4 Splatcats but they don't have much ELO info so you should be good to go."

I really, really want Phase 2 back. Yeah, it could be bad, but ELO just ratcheted it up to "worse" for the most part.

This has been happening to me a lot recently in my Jenner or Hunchback. I get a couple of kills, do a sit check, see that I'm the only one left, manage to get a few more kills before I go down. Final score shows me and perhaps one other valiant soul with decent damage and kills at the top of our leaderboard, followed by 6 guys who couldn't hit a cow's backside with a banjo.
