FYI, know what happens when a bunch of people decide to "give it time?" They get frustrated, give up, and leave "until it gets better." ELO doesn't fix itself, so it never gets better, and we get a dead game. Know what PGI should've done if we needed to give ELO more time to sort itself?

THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE IMPLEMENTED ELO UNTIL THERE WAS ENOUGH DATA TO SORT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

But they need to have the Elo up and running in order to collect that data so they can make the proper adjustments.

Yah voice chat is overpowered nerf it! :rolleyes:

So after they beat you their elo score went up and yours went down so it looks like it is fine to me.

New Matchmaker is the equivalent of watching a mentally handicapped person (because it censored the slang) count nickels its pointless, endless, and never adds up

Then they need to make those ASAP. Obviously the pre-seeding didn't do much good.

Did you miss the part where they were down by a good 300t? Clearly they lacked skill and must be punished for having the luck to face down a team with almost double their firepower.

Current Elo system tries to match and rank evenly skilled players like it would for chess, except their pieces are randomized each game. One side can randomly start with 16 queens or 16 pawns or any other crazy combination. (Oh and your chess board is random too.)

Let me just say this, First off, each game mode is designed for different types of mechs, Conquest is better suited for faster mechs, assult is more of heavy brawler with lots of firepower type.

2nd, I know we have to play to get the elo right, but I lose interest in playing because there is no fun. The "tourny" this past weekend only promoted solo COD mindset and this is ment to be a team based game. My WHOLE UNIT is not happy and playing other games because this game has fallen so far from what was promised to us. I will not play more then a match or two because I can't stomach all the crap that has become common place. There is NO teamwork in pugs, no calling targets, staying together, focusing fire, covering fire, nothing that belongs in a game like this.

I know I will be trolled for this post and I don't care. Take care, have fun cause I am not. GG

You forget to mention that the figures change their skills each game and the sides are not working as a coherent team under one leadership but 8 different figures wanting to do their thing. Except that a 4 ppl group can be on any of the teams (or even 2 groups) which in fact do work together and it is not taken into account.

Not playing will only make it worse. It is happening because it does take weight into account but as it finds it harder and harder to match scores it expands it's parameters wider and wider in skill and tonnage. They are thinking about putting in a Weight min/max which should help with that. Not playing though means fewer people, which means fewer people to match up, which means expanding the search parameters wider and creates the disparity.


Here's my problem with this: Playing has ceased to be enjoyable, on any level. I get consistently steamrolled in every match by other teams who seem to be far superior (whether it's weight wise or skill wise) to my entire team. This happens when I pug. This happens when I drop in a group ( 2 - 4 man). I'm in a newer mech, in a class I don't play, so I should have a low ELO, but it still CONSISTENTLY happens. I'm on the verge of an uninstall because the game is no longer fun. I will not spend my time doing something painful in the hopes that it will get better the more I do it.
