I've looked it up, but nobody seems to know.
Pitty though, a faction warfare game with only stock builds would have been a dream come true for me.

I wasted a few seconds of my life on this when I could have wasted them on another angry thread somewhere else! For shame!

Funny though hehe

Because EA didn't believe in the concept of online gaming at that point in time. They did look for a way to cut down on costs and closed down several developer studios, including the ones working on MPBT:3025. The ones working on online titles, were those with the highest priority to be shut down.

Some of us even tried to make EA rethink their position by directly adressing their investors. No one wanted to listen to our "future of gaming" concepts at the time. We were only some lowly players who wouldn't know what is good for a gaming company. It needed WoW, EVE and several successfull free to play titles to get them and EA to rethink their position. Today, EA is all about online gaming in their marketing, even going so far as publicly announcing it as the prime market for their future products, excluding single player experience from their product lines.

They could have listened to their players but decided against it. A concept EA has been true to, as far back as I can remember them.

That said, I believe this thread is better served in the off-topic part of the forums.

I'm pretty sure that Mad Cat broke Zell and seriously underbid. "You will pay for your treachery Adam Steiner!"
