I personally love the assymetric patchwork copper/silver junkstyle paintjob.

The ECM talk is annoying. Why would this thing have ECM. Every time a new mech comes out the same chatter ... and this one has lots of potential without.

I also think the 2A Cicada is better than the 3M in most situations, even without ECM. I have also been seeing more and more 2As recently so people seem to be noticing the same.

Very interesting layout, as it should be. It's quite similar to the Jenner D - somewhat slower, but might be able to fit stronger lasers. A 2 SRM6 Cicada also sounds exciting. Only two tubes per hardpoint are a bit of a downside to me, but workable. With 4 small lasers and 2 SRM6 it would have a potential DPS of 11.5 = beast!

Did Garth have his birthday or something? This looks like the perfect mech for him. With or without SRMs.

It should have Jump Jets. There is at least one variant of the Cicada I found in MegaMek that had an insane jump ability. (8 hexes or something like that.) That was fun.

Heck yes! I was starting to wonder if I was the only one that liked the paint job (or lack thereof).

But yeah, it looks cool, and if it's pulling 2m 4e in addition to either JJ or ECm it will definitely be the first hero mech I buy. I mean, yeah, it'd just be an 5 ton heavier jenner D or raven 3L respectively, but cicadas have way more style than jenners or ravens.

Thing is if those "headlights" are 2-port missile launchers, they'd be LT and RT, meaning it's more than just a bigger Jenner.

I foresee 3x or 4x med lasers and 2x SSRM 2s.

edit: after looking at the pic in more detail, you can see the beginning of the housing for the hardpoint on the exposed arm, on the other, meaning it'll likely be 4E 2M, and I'm still betting on 4x M.Lasers and 2x SSRM2s, or maybe some M.PLas mixed in since it's either "X, for experimental" or as mentioned "X-5 Beer" trailer park king. I would love to see the latter personally, lol.

if it got no ecm then i wont buy. the cicada hitbox is so big that not only lights, but other mechs have no trouble shooting it.
i dont care if ppl cry pay 2 win, what matters is if PGI wants my money with that mech.

Those "headlights" look almost exactly like the old SRM texture on the 4SP. Yeah I'm betting missile points. It would make no sense for them to make yet another energy only cicada as a hero. If it has ECM we will get nothing but "OMG P2W" threads. Highly doubt it has it.

I think it's a Quad Narc, Quad Small Laser Cicada.

They just buffed the Narc, so it makes sense to build a new Hero Mech around this awesome piece of tech.
