Aw damnit...I liked the "light shinning in the dark" comment better.

Weird how it changed midway through my reply...

Anyways, you're entitled to your opinion, just like the OP.

My opinion was smart-assed-ly stating "I think you're reading into it to much".

I think its lame that we've not had any new concept art in 2 months as well.

Though given how the Orion turned out, I'm a bit apprehensive.

Shame too, probably my favorite ride in Battletech. Others are thrilled by it, me not so much. I think the cockpit is just wrong and too large, throwing off the "scale" of the mech making it look like a 50-tonner. The choice to go with the SRM4 in the torso is also disappointing. For us old-timers, its in the LA and always has been for the ON1-K. Typo-crit sheets be damned. The fact the CBT PTB keep F-ing it up is puzzling. Only hope is the in-game model looks better. But I digress.

Thank you for your clarification, from one unwashed to another. :P

Ya, the first response felt a bit douchey ha ha. And I'd agree that I'm looking into it too deeply, but the whole premise of an ultimatum for more concept content just seems absurd to me.

So, they had a pattern going then it changed. So what. Would I like to see more concept art? sure, but not because I like looking at pictures, but because it's a little hint at where the game is going. Is the fact that there isn't more shiny to look at gonna stop me from supporting a game I friggin love to play RIGHT NOW AS IT IS AND WILL ONLY GET BETTER? No.

I'm holding out with hope that they've got some super awesome, super secret stuff all queued up just waiting to blow our minds.

I do regret all my bumps to this nutty thread, but the goon v Kong talk lately has me munching on some popcorn.

1. So, no new Concept art for months, PGI says new will be coming.

2. PGI gets asked in every ask the devs about clans, basically say: all is done, we dont want to talk about yet.

3. Next week is clan invasion in timeline.

What might happen next? I have no Idea :P

Yeah right. The invasion of the clans begins next month (canoncial), but we still miss the 5th IS assault mech aka "BattleMech #20". It would be nice to see it before they come with clan tech.

Anyone can feel free to correct me, I haven't been around since closed beta - but doesn't it seem like PGI is really, really slow when it comes to new content? Alpine Peaks took a very long time for map of questionable quality, as one example. It seems to me that threads like this can only exist because PGI is so slow (yet quick to drag feet) in terms of getting new content added.

At this point I'm more worried about the Jagermech in game looking nothing like the awesome concept art... And the long cold spring of mechs I'm not interested in before I get my Orion. New art is nowhere on my list of needs or wants.

That's probably because you're comparing them to a large team working on some AAA title. PGI only has about 40 something employees I think. I think they're going at a pretty good pace considering they're not exactly a "large" company.

Even with that consideration they're on the slow side. For the map team, the number I've heard is 7 people taking 3-4 months per map. There are plenty of mod teams that work faster in their spare time for free.
