Just until they finnaly fix sight distances and put in 12 man teams for it.. Otherwise it's just too darn big... Spending the match just walking around the map in circles gets boring real fast.. Especially in the slower mechs...

So hows this sound.. we all just head for epsilon conquest point ( that small outpost in the north).. And when we all meet there we duke it out and get the map done with.. Sure the Leghmpers can do thier thing runnning all ove rthe place at 150 kph.. but for the rest of us just duke it out.....

Otherwise we are just gonna keep having matches where we talk politics or have a book club meeting while we cirlce the map like ships in the night..

Cause if i really just felt like goin out for a lazy stroll, i'll just put on my shoes grab a coat and walk the back 40 for a bit... otherwise it's just too damn big for current team size.. maybe when theres more mechs to split up and do something 2 pronged than sure..

but in the meantime ...
Lets all just head in the same direction for the brawl..

Let's make the maps even smaller instead. Then we can have two pointblank firing lines like an early 1800's battle, and just fling damage numbers at each other till we're all dead.

LOL I agree. No one really is interested in strategy or outmaneuvering your opponent, in fact that is strictly frowned upon as wasting everyone's time. We should just ask PGI to make smaller maps.

Let's all just agree to treat this game as a tactical exercise where scouting is useful and you should defend or move to engage enemy forces wherever they're going. You know... The way they intended with role warfare?

I'm already seeing more and more matches just turn into "Fight at Epsilon." Makes the rest of the map pretty much useless outside of the light that runs and caps points or the enemy base.

Basically the crowd asked for bigger maps, and now that we have one the crowd just fights on one portion of the map that is no bigger than the other maps.

First u have to have a scout mech to begin with.. I cant count the number of games that are all under 100kph meds and bigger. gets slowly boring in a hurry...

The thing is on conquest the scout does didly but head south and run a counterclockwise circle capping bases.. Does he search for the enemy .. Nah only premades would do that. nope he's just gonna do cap runs and engage the other light doing the same if he comes across him....

And with current sight ranges sooo limited u cant see for the 2-3km sight lines on the map... If we could see far then ol zippy can pack his bags I wont need him anymore.. but we can only see 1500m there so yea broken..

Uhhhhhh, sort of sounds like you are trying to adapt the map to your mech instead of adapting your mech to the map.

Sort of sounds like you are trying to force the same strategy from all the other maps onto the only map that is different -- meaning, you're rejecting the variety that the community has been begging for and the devs have been trying to deliver.

And to me, it sort of sounds like your plan will only succeed if EVERYONE plays your way. Anyone who decides to use speed / long range / balanced builds to their advantage will......well......have an advantage over you and your followers.

For all those reasons, I'm thinking you won't get a lot of support for your plan.
But hey, good luck with that!

His plan is already happening. I've had one match in Alpine peaks that didn't just turn into a fight in the epsilon area. Instead it was a ring around the rosie event with no shots fired till near the end of the match.

I think it is the best map, It feels right (the size) and I just wish that all the maps were this big.
Much more strategic and until the big fight happens you can play cat and mouse and lay traps for the enemy.
Talk to your team send scouts out to find out where the enemy is and react accordingly.

I propose a new map, called "The Killing Floor"

Basically it is a one-square sized map, with no terrain or obstructions. Just a flat pavement.

Both sides spawn 500m from each other. Assault mode only.

That's interesting. This has not been my experience. I've played it about a dozen times, and every game has been different and wonderful.

We already have that. It's called River City Thermal.
