Easy Fixes For Ecm. Jj. Hardpoints

THE PROBLEM!!! Implementation and restrictions!
The EASY CURE!
All mechs can have and use Ecm, If the pilot doesn't equip it to be able to hit J and Jam enemy ecm, Then its the pilots fault.
All mechs can have and use Jump Jets. If the pilot doesn't equip and and gets his back shot out by a light mech. Then its the pilots fault.
All mechs have Hard points (ei triggers and power outputs to the cockpit). Make them Flexible! Keep the same number of allocated hard points on the mechs as they are but make the locations Flexible. If a pilot wants to put all his weapons in his left arm only (providing they fit with the crit slots) then fine if the pilot gets his left arm blown off and looses all his weapons. Then its the pilots fault.

yes actually let's do that. People need to be in favor of just making the game good and lore 2nd if not 3rd.
Mechwarrior has ALWAYS been the VIDEO GAME translation of this universe so let's make a video game again. As long as the game is bad...that means the dev team has not deviated far enough from the lore to actually build a good game.
The OP's suggestions aren't exactly how I would do it but it's nice that people are thinking outside of the box. The problem with ACTUALLY fixing this game is that you would need to gut a lot of the current systems and build a Mechwarrior game. At that point you would need to offer refunds to everyone because it would turn into a different game than they thought they were getting etc. I like the bold ideas myself. PGI could have chosen a very different road but they are kind of locked into this now.

Maybe JJs should be available on every mech, I'd be curious to see how that worked out.
No hardpoints should not be mobile.

The problems with ECM aren't going to be solved by letting every mech have it. Its going to be solved through gameplay balancing.

Well you technically don't even need hardpoints if you designed the game from the ground up on that basis. I swear to god I would make the best damn online robots game ever but i'm not a programmer.
I just need a team that is

Actually, no. Mechwarrior was/is the RPG pen and paper game that allowed you to roll play as a pilot in the BT universe. Came out three years before the "Mechwarrior" game.
But that's just me splitting hairs.
On a more reasonable response: the reason to keep lore (and the restrictions/baggage that come with it) is that's what gives the game character. Otherwise, don't call it BattleTech/mechwarrior and just give us generic chassis -20 tons, generic chassis -25 tons, etc...

Taken from Mechwarrior 1641 Page 141
""'In case of a destroyed or blown-off body segment (Which never EVER happens in mechwarrior ) Jurry-rigging a repair may OFTEN involve grafting an arm or a leg from a different mech type onto the afflicted unit. in such instances remember to make appropriate adjustments to the units available weaponry, as well as any related changes to Armor, heat sink capability, or mp allowances that result from the switch.""
Ooohhhh yes ignoring the lore, yep yep. right out the window!!!!

No, thanks.
I would actually want the opposite: MORE restrictions regarding hardpoints. The current system is to flexible for my tastes.
I mean seriously: if you remove the hardpoint system on regular Inner Sphere 'Mechs, then what is the purpose of OmniMechs?

purpose? purpose? You que up, you shoot dudes in robuts. This is not a single player game although it started as one and now that's our problem as the players.

It just needs balance, and the advantages that ECM gives for the slots / weight that it costs is completely disproportional to any other piece of equipment in the game.
This is Mech Warrior online, if all you want is giant robots there are games without an established IP to try.
