Why should every variant be viable? It is enough (for competetive play!) if every weight class/role makes at least some sense in competetive play and that´s mainly for viewing pleasure, since nobody wants to see 16 Catapults or whatever duke it out

Not every mech should be viable. We don't need such extreme levels of balance. If there are top mechs and let it be so. There will still be more than a handful so that's okay. There are good mechs and there are better mechs.
Focusing on 100% balance will be a waste of time and while there might be some really bad issues that need to be fixed, I do not think that there are any that are critical at the moment.

well a good team can beat a team with cheese, yes. But theoretically a team with 4 ravens and 4 splat cats would basically NEVER lose.
Yet they do all the time. I was up against a 6 splat cat, 2 raven team - they got their buts handed to them. Cheese does not = winning. Skill and talent do.

I think all mechs should be viable and fit a role in the game. If they are "bad" then they need to be buffed or removed. So which mechs are bad?

Here at the TOPGUN Academy, we are the best of the best. It does not matter what we pilot whether its a F-14 Tomcat or a Ravel 3L we will beat you. Any real competitors will accept that and come at us on the volleyball court. That is where the real competition is!!!
