Burnout stems from....

- the fourteenth consecutive round of thermal city night...

- trying to determine which of your already mastered mechs to take....

- realizing there is no loadout you haven't tried yet, even the cheese builds....

- waiting for yet another ECM bandaid, even though most of the community has been telling PGI for months ECM is broken...

- you realize there are fewer maps, including variants, than sticks on a king size KitKat...

- knowing you'd rather clean your ears with a shrimp fork than drop on thermal city night AGAIN...

- the mech you've been waiting to pilot in game won't be released till July at the earliest...

That is a lot of it. I hate River City Night. I just have no interest in playing that map at all at this point.

Burn-out isn't quite the right word, but I am pretty much only playing to kind of keep in practice moreso than "OH WOW MWO FUN!"

We need Community Warfare, and we need less generic game modes and maps, and we need them yesterday.

But what is one to do but wait?

I find myself wanting to play, then when I actually sit down, the desire is never what it was. I'll play 3 or 4 games, then just have to stop.

I find myself not wanting to bother with the grind at times, and bored of the same two modes, which are basically the same mode.
I think maps, modes, mechs, and maybe the option to play in scenario battles for Cbills could add some more depth to things. Hopefully CW comes out within the year, maybe sooner adding more depth.

Ya, the game is still in beta mode, ie, lack of variety, lack of implementation, lack of content. Basically its very unfinished. I just got back from a 2+month hiatus from this game and I'm currently loving MWO again.

My advice: step away, do something else, come back later. Or not. Do what makes you happy, even if it means not playing this game.

They flat out need to step up the map and mech releases. I'm getting bored silly.

That's why I don't play that much. I only had 645matches to date.

Just to avoid burnout before Community Warfare etc are in. And that's why I don't join a Merc/Clan. Just waiting for the right time xD

Exactly this. I'm saving my hours of gaming until CW comes along. The game as it is is just to repetitive. I have like 500 or 600 games and I'm saving my premium time until we have real content.

I'm not here to talk trash about the game. The changes and balances made have enough people bitching that I figure it will work itself out in time, like StarCraft: Brood War (near perfect balance.)

But, for some reason, this game just... lost me. The other weekend I finally had some time to play, got a case of beer in the fridge, sat down... no work to worry about, just some alone time. I went on FaceBook for about 10 minutes, then looked at my joystick, paused, and went "meh." Had really no desire to fire the game back up. I just went out and did something.

It sucks, because I was waiting all week to have time to play, and then I just really didn't even care. I don't think there's anything wrong with the game, I don't know what it is.

Everyone goes through this with every video game and even every hobby they have. Variety is, as they say, the spice of life. Mix things up a bit more and the boredom bug won't bite.

With every LRM boat I see and doesnt leave the spawn point. I lose more and more intrest to play the game. 1 match it was 6 of them lined up on ridge and scared to leave spawn point and to skilless to play anything else.

My advice if your burnt out on the game is quit being a powergamer or least give it a break.

Go back to playing they way you would when you were a kid with some transformers , he-man, and GI joes.

If all you do is powerplay eventually it will spoil. Go for some style, personalize.

Solve the great mystery of the stock mechs :)

Burn out happens in every game. I got burn out in all the Call of Duty games eventually (MW2 I logged on the most hours vs. CoD4, W@W, MW3, BO).

Yeah I got burned out on ****** ECM. If they ever get around to fixing it, I might actually play again.

Tried a couple matches the other night... nope. Still not worth playing.

I hope it will become more of a game that is engaging beyond the mechlab when community warfare rolls. To have a purpose to be fighting would greatly help the burn out factor. For me the main flaw the game has is lack of tension due to no penalty for dieing or no reward for living through a match.

lack of maps, lobbies, and community warfare. It's good to take a break and play something else too while a game is in Beta. Sometimes this also helps bring back some perspective.

I find it happens with all games tbh. Just take a break for a bit and come look at it in a couple of weeks and see how you feel.

This game needs an actual objective and goal, it needs community warfare.

Not me but then again this isn't the only game I'm Beta testing. I stopped playing WOW because Beta testing is taking up all my free time.
Current Betas:
MWO
Planetside 2
Neverwinter Online
