One key sign that I am burning out is when I get leap past frustration with game elements to fully pissed off.
When this happens I stop playing for two to three days and do some thing else.
Like play other games, go see a move, spend more time reading, and walk more often around my city.
I have varied my routine a lot with these types of things so I am burning out less.

Some may call this a full game but when you consider the vision for it, it's really the skeletal system for a game. And it's hard to wait that long.
