I disagree.
With the limitations the clans have (Omnimech internals locked to the variant) but with flexible weaponry pods there is only two things making them unbalanced.
-Allowing Clan Internals on IS mechs
-SOME Clan weapons have some incredible stats compared to IS. (se ebelow example)
LRM20: 50% less weight
ERPPC: 16% less weight
ER LL: 20% less weight
Gauss: 20% less weight
The LRM 20 for the clan is INSANELY overpowered to anything else they have. Most other weapons have up to 20% difference in weight and a perhaps 20% or one slot less critical. Also, heat is usually one point or so less.
For some reason the LRM20 is 50% lighter and takes up 20% less space but have the same heat output.
What the hell makes it 50% lighter. I can get a 20% reduction but on a Marauder we are talking 10 tonnes difference. That's 50% of a 20 tonne MECH.
Most other weaponry apart from clan Pulse Lasers have a range bonus compared to IS but weight, size and mass and heat output are the same.
The LRM20 is the only weapon to truly stand out by it's 50% weight and no minimum range - It's essentially a SSRM20 with 1km range.
