I just saw an advertisement for this on Facebook. This certainly looks like copyright infringement to me. There are two mechs on there that REALLY look like atlases and catapults though I don't see those exact names used on the front page.

https://mwtactics.co...nders?csi=2_4_2

On further inspection of the website, it does use the name "atlas." This doesn't look like official Mechwarrior. Is it?

Notice how the publisher for that game is the same as this one?

Mechwarrior tactics is another game under the IGP banner, with the same liscensing. Not infingement at all. Still the same universe, just different engines and play style.

And they have the same sort of founders program too.

The art is literally so bad, people are already confusing it for a cheap, chinese knock-off of mechwarrior online's new mech designs.

Little do they know how faithful it is to its roots!

That is the MW:O's sister project that wants to make TT accessible to us, common internet folk.

They have the same riht to do MW stuff as we do. :P

I'm going to buy the legendary pack to that game as I have with MWO. I've been waiting for that game (MW: Tactics) For a really long time. I do like the feeling being inside a mech's cockpit, but I really too like commanding my mechs from the 'birdeye' view. Also like the fact you can customize all the mech' in Tactics' like in MWO.

If you put founders into that then either you are controlling a computer with your eyelids and thusly I feel sorry for you, or you just got duped.

edit: I have to say if you just shoot lrms here than that is the game for you

I'd be all over that if the game actually had decent mech designs. A lot can be forgiven as a Battletech fan. That isn't one of them.

Like... I'd be a paying customer, and not take a pay check... if they'd want to hire me as their mech designer. Because I could do the work. But this... it's upsetting. I don't want to associate my fanhood with that. I'd rather deny my fascination for big stompy robots than think I'd be able to play this wretched thing that they've made.

Luckily, I'm not forced to play. But sucks waiting 2 decades for a viable mainstream TT translation only to see it be an incredibly unviable foolish interpretation of Battle Tech.

it IS P2W omg its really horrible

let them take your money and still come back here to complain about ecm thanks

edit:different weps do diff things although all weps are the same you just need a 'booster' pack.

honestly if it had some sort of point it might be worth it.

One would think that the name "MechWarrior Tactics" was kinda a giveaway of the license used. Who would actually be so stupid to use the exact name and brand without having the license? :P

Well yes. The OP is dumb as a box of rocks and some of the other posters in here are trying to compete.

I literally have no idea what Texas Merc is saying.

Not really that hard to understand him is it? The art style is so bad that it should be immediately obvious that the problem is the bad art style.

And it really is just the most terrible art style I've ever seen used with mecha art of any sort.

Like, Super Deformed Gundams next to this stuff (I do like SD stuff) is like God mode art. The art of Mechwarrior Tactics is what you get when you get people that have no love and respect for the franchise hiring people that have no love and respect for the franchise, to make what they think is an eye catching art style that will appeal to the casual game market.

Of course those artists are cynical, and the people managing them are cynical, and they get sarcastic feedback and directions on how to make the weapons more pointy and dynamic, with more skulls on the atlas, because that's what defines an atlas, and that the shapes should be more aggressive, like that one cartoon robot the guy remembers from Astroboy.
