The monthly updates only highlight the problem.

Bryan was supposed to post this Month's on Saturday, check his twitter, he then changed that date to today.

It's the things that cause you to realize just how bad they are at sticking with a schedule.

I don't care, I really don't.

As for your assumptions, regarding Mechs, this is in all likelihood wrong.

I have determined this due the fact that both the Stalker and the Spider had to have their initial screenshots reposted within a few days to show off more complete models. If they are really working this close to the wire in order to deliver just a single Mech on time, I do not believe they can deliver two Mechs at once.

As for Community Warfare, as I have pointed out, it will likely not be around until the end of the year either given PGI's estimates. So in reality here, there's no argument.

Doom saying! Quick everyone with the pitch forks. You make your assumptions I make mine. But spouting doom a year in advance? 2000!, 2012!, what is the next one? 2036!

Estimates are Estimates, it could come sooner or later. Because estimates are best guesses.

He also goes on to say that they're on track apparently.

I didn't say that's when the Mechs will be in the game, I even put a note around it to clarify this. Bryan stated that it will be around April or May that the final concept for OmniMechs should be done. This means the systems surrounding them, not the Mechs themselves. There is nothing contradictory here.

I agree (though less violently so) with this man. This all looks a bit tin-foil hat to me. I think you're looking too much into things that aren't there and thus making connections where there aren't any. Delays like this happen, no matter the size of the company, and the constant fixing they need to do to for things that get broken during implementation really doesn't help. Give them time, it's still all coming together.

Except I have done some pretty exacting research into this.

I always do. Just look at my Hero Mech thread, I predicted the Cicada Hero Mech far before its release and in all likelihood have predicted the exact release date and order of the future Hero Mechs.

On a somewhat related note, is anything slated to come out this Tuesday? Next Tuesday?

the only real new startling information from this thread is that my founders money went towards two games that I honestly expect to fail.

I kickstarted failures?

Hero Cicada, new Camo, and some other cockpit items.

If you view them as failures, then yes.

A hint of arrogance. Truly all that you say is to be fact. Please tell me more about the lottery numbers.

You connect delays in mechs and delays in content for reasons we are not fully aware of then say that this game is to fail.

Did you know Command and Conquer Generals is rolling out with their game too? They plan to only release 3 factions and have planned for factions from all the C&C stories. Surely they too will fail in their F2P escapades.

Did it say that? I don't know if its the sleep deprivation or what but I'm not getting that from the text as quoted.

An unrelated design choice from an unrelated game.

What purpose does bringing it up serve other than to act as a Red Herring?

Good to see there are many people around who have no clue about how game development actually works.. makes the rest of us feel a lot better about ourselves, I reckon. :D

No, it does have a place in this conversation. I am doing the exact same thing.

C&C Generals is to be a Free to Play model game. Running on a new engine relatively untouched by anyone in that genre. They have their plans for factions (mechs) to be things you can acquire to play an online game against other people. They stated that any campaign or singleplayer (community warfare) is not expected upon release. Sure the delays in even getting the beta underway means that the alpha is not even finished! The game will fail!

If the game does somehow fail miserably then you will be right. Saying it here and now based off assumptions from very loose connections of your opinions and then broadcasting this message on the forums however is in poor taste. You aren't right and we have yet to see it, so don't act like it.

While I can see how this can cause someone concern, sensationalizing your topic like this (let's face it, saying that something is dieing is sensationalizing it) is going to get you largely ignored.

While content is, undoubtedly part of what makes an MMO succeed or fail, that content isn't just art assets. It's gameplay, which is arguably more important than art. It's entirely possible that the initial 2-mechs-a-month plan (this is the first I've heard of it myself) was abandoned, either for being infeasible with PGI's resources (having created assets for games myself, I can tell you that it takes a lot of time and effort, a lot more than people think, just to make the 3D models, let alone texture, rig, and the myriad other things required to make a completed game asset) or in favor of redistributing money and effort into other areas, such as gameplay mechanics and community warfare. It's entirely possible that we are actually still under the Plan, after all, they are indeed releasing two 'mechs a month, one hero and one regular.

Plans change during devlopment. Especially early on, like now. You forget, a year ago, this game didn't even exist.

The March "deadline" for the invasion, I think, was people getting their hopes up. While we are, technically, in the midst right now, it's barely started. No one has seen any of the clans' 'mechs. At least not in such a way that their appearances have been widely spread.

First I demand that you acknowledge your name is from Gundam, or if not, tell me where it is from. After all these months of flinging Gundam references at you, I think I deserve that much,

Norris is right. Time to pack up shop and leave. There are other mech games out there that'll give us our mech fix. I suggest Hawken. Or at the very least, whatever you do, stop enjoying this game! Because it might not be enjoyable for as long as you hope it will be!

Well, this is what Paul has said about Revival. Right or wrong, he's hinted that it might be scaled around August, and flat out said not to expect it in April. I don't exactly have a reason to say his rough estimations are entirely fallacious.

Absolutely not no. My $400 dollar gfx card is still rendering in dx9 at an embarrassing framerate. There are still no regional servers. On two separate computers I suffer CTD's when finishing every few games. Textures in maps still pop in and out of existence commonly. Sound still crackles (even more so now that betty's apparently psychic spam has been cranked up to 11. The front end is still ugly, is still windowed and still features no social functions beyond a bugged group UI that you can't actually use to drop with all your friends. There is no ingame voicecomms, no ability to report cheats/tkers, We've seen one new map since June (I'm not counting "White Version of Map #2), the premium mechs are nearly all utterly pointless unless you see value in other people admiring a paintjob that you yourself can only see in the rubbish mechbay. There's only one developer in the entire team who speaks to the players with anything resembling an honest outlook and I can't even change my password on the website following a security issue in which the email addresses of half the userbase at the time were made the property of a person who thinks Obama is Iranian and that the White House faked the Sandy Hook massacre.
