Not gonna read all the posts to see if this is mentioned or not but just want to make sure everyone realizes what coolant flush will bring. Currently we are seeing 4-6 ppc stalkers roaming the battlefireld being pretty effectve in the right hands. Now they can be handle as is by rushing them and forcing them to fire enough to shut down but if you give them coolant...holy crap.

Please tell me you have play tested this in house some. Maybe its just a 1 use thing I don't know but I am very concerned about this. Not only for the potential game breaking possiblities but also for the simple fact that i was under the understanding that coolant flush would never be a part of this game. Starting to get a little tired of being told 1 thing and getting another. Gonna try real hard though to wait and see how these consumables really work before I go into panic mode...trust me I am not there yet but I see the start line.

Gadgets, Gee-Gaws and glitter. All good. What's a pilot gotta do to get a new map around here?

Flush? Seems a priority snafu and wonder about the meta effects. Call for fire on River City 50% chance of friendly fire I would be afraid of.

All good. Did I say maps?

I like most of what I see. I just don't know what to think about the consumables: I don't like the idea of Call of Mech Duty.

I'm not very fond of the coolant flush thing... but honestly, we already kinda have a way around overheating (which is overriding it) so I am not sure it will change the game as much as people fear. I can count on one hand the times I've done an overheat override and died from overheating again soon after.

Also, we don't know if activating the flush will be instant, over time, or carry any kind of movement / firing penalty with it.

So I am not freaking out just yet.

I hope this HSR works. Lag shields seem to exist on Mechs with 500ms pings and 50ms.

I'm hoping with the improvements to joystick support that movement and tracking will match a mouse. :P Thanks for the update and patch which looks great. Cant wait to try it out. B)

What happened to the daily ISN new feeds? I'm getting bored... seriously bored with the site. The forums are full of trolls or trolls-in-training (t.i.t's) and that's only entertaining for so long... what happened Devs? :P

We got bored of playing MWO. So now we play Violins in front of the Devs on the forums.

Seriously though, they need to have the Command Chair updates ready when they release the Developer Update. Otherwise people around here tend to lose their ****. I do have some general concerns I want addressed over these consummables that Paul can hopefully sort out here soon.

Also, Garth has some explaining to do

Q: Have you guys considered adding Coolant Pods to increase heat dissipation of a mech's heatsinks when used? [vayne]
A: Yes, we considered and then dropped the idea. We found it more of a crutch and lead to more issues than it helped with. If you're in a long, multi-targetted single player game, it makes sense. In a player vs. player environment you get a MASSIVE increase in firepower for no cost, or it wouldn't be enough to make a difference (IE. the match would never last long enough for you running out of coolant to matter, because you've already killed two people. Or, it doesn't even last a single fight, then why even have it?) Does that make sense? [Garth]

What made the development staff change their mind on this issue? It's not like the community was clamoring for this feature. My only speculation is that they are finding ways to balance Clan vs. IS, and upon revisiting this concept, the coolant flush gave IS mechs another weapon against horrendously powerful Clan mechs

Pretty much this.

The about face, without any detail (seriously there is already a CC post on the training grounds) not only makes me nervous, it pretty much confirms what I'm worried about.

Like I said, this better be good.

Fuzzy Dice, Testing Grounds, consumables, and analog joystick control (finally!) makes me a very happy Steiner indeed.

Keep up the good work!

Testing grounds, yay. Mechs I can actually hit! They don't move.. *laughs*

Consumables: more modules? Yay. Implementation will turn this part into an all yay or ugh vote. Since it is a module, I am assuming this means it will require us to spend GXP to get the appropriate skill to use said module. For the artillery/air strikes might even require a certain component needed...like a Command Chair, perhaps. But the post on consumables is in the works, so I shall be a good lil' mech and wait.

Desert: big map. I like big maps. So many tactical options. Now if most players would realize it. My only complaint is it's a desert. Sand, it gets in everywhere....always need an oil bath afterwards and that requires going to Mos Eisley....

Stats Well I can't hit the broadside of the planet I'm standing on, so yeah more stats will furthur support my statements of "I can't shoot." Still in debate on whether the added proof is good or bad.... *laughs*

Joystick: yay. Don't use one. Lack of thumbs makes most joysticks hard to use. Hard to push the buttons up top when you got no thumb to go up there. Parking brakes are a pain in the wookie's fuzzy behind, now just imagine a joystick for a fast paced sim game. But good news for others, so yay.

Mechlab: More improvements, always good. Here's a NERF gun, the actual company NERF, not nerf. Shoot them with spongy yellow bouncing balls if someone complains about this.

Community Fun Stuff Please don't just be on the weekends for us folks who work 36 to 40 hours on two days named Saturday and Sunday. Barely have time for sleep, least of all the event. Vary the time up a bit or make them longer or I don't know, make sheep.

Gameplay: Oh good, it's possible to hit light mechs. I'll still miss, but at least it won't be the netcode's fault. More proof...*whispers in an aside* Stop finding proof about my aim.

as for the sheep bit, uh, don't ask. Even I don't know. No sheep to see here, move along.

Airstrikes and call downs are a terrible idea. Anyone play Tribes Ascend, remember how much fun those were?

MechLab UI Improvements
Further refinements to buying and selling `Mechs, readying `Mechs, and a visualization of hardpoints, weapons, and critical space directly on the `Mech itself, will make their appearance March 5th. These additions make a huge improvement to understanding the state of your BattleMech, along with helping understand the differences between variants when making a purchasing decision.

Does that mean putting Dual Gauss rifles on a Cat actually shows Dual Gauss on the visual model in-game?
