I will be interested to see how this is implemented/priced. Yes, it is available for cbills, but I can see people having an issue with artillery and air strikes being MC purchases.

As long as the price point between MC/cbill is equal-ish, I think that's alright.

So many threads are gonna explode about this Ill post the same thing in each one

ARTILLERY STRIKES AND AIR STRIKES = GOLDEN BBs

either pay MC or sacrifice your CBill income to remain competetive

premium accounts once again at huge advantage

(I have MC and premium and I still dont like the smell of this)

Arty and air strikes could be OP depending on how long it takes to resolve the effect and the exact area of effect/scatter of the impacts.

It depends on the cbill cost. As long as the cbill price equivalent is cheaper, I think it's in a good place. These could be an excellent cbill sink.

We'll of course have to wait and see I suppose.

As long as (cbills earned per match)*.75<(Cost of consumables brought to match) I am fine with this.
Much more than that and I will be annoyed.
Using module slots is a wise choice, it limits the number of consumables one can bring.

If they work anything close to tabletop in implementation, you don't have much to worry about (until we get mech mounted Arrow IV batteries for dumb firing, like the CPLT-C3, but those will be hilarious). The damage from an artillery strike can range from 10-25 damage, depending on the weapon, on a direct hit. Less on splash.

Could be an affordable and good cbill sink.

Could also be very overpriced and/or OP making them prohibitively expensive to buy with cbills but offer too great an in game advantage to not take.

Change your title. They are available for c-bills too. Geez this community is full of whiny flustered girls

Until we see numbers there's no point in crying foul. If anything, I expect this to be a welcome addition to the game. At first glance, though, I don't see anything to complain about. If it is available via c-bills, then it is by definition not P2W. I'm looking forward to seeing how these things all work.

This has been known for quite a while now. Talks of Airstrikes, as a conusmable, per match or cooldown timer, ability is public knowledge if you follow the game closely enough.

Where have you been?

No. I'm posing a question specifically about the use of MC. I acknowledge the Cbill option. Also,
I'm not whining. I'm specifically with holding my own judgment while asking opinions and waiting for implementation.

Wow people love to make assumptions.

I'm well aware that air strikes and such as a consumable have been in the works. They've specifically talked about in the developer QA. It's a great idea as a cbill sink. I'm specifically wondering what people's thoughts are in regards to the fact that they will also be purchasable via MC.

Buying consumeables with mc (=real money) is the dumbest thing ever. I will only buy them with cbills and at reasonable prices. I can win a pug game just fine even now, I'm not gonna spend a lot of money on making it easier, that won't be worth it.

I don't see how it is a bad idea from PGI's standpoint. What are you having trouble with? Not everyone will take the cheap route...

This is the sort of thing that makes me a bit anxious. Considering how far pulse lasers, heat scale, and ECM deviated from TT I'd say all bets are off.

MWO has it's own system now, so we can't assume anything will resemble it's original design going forward.

even if they suck its basically bringing Rearm back into the game so why take it out at all?

so many contradictions

not that I WANT rearm back

out of match economy balancing in game combat YET AGAIN

SIIIIIIIIGGGHHHHHH

next thing you know theyll try that 3rd person nonsense again

I'll repost this here.

Personally, I hope it works like camo patterns.

Cbills for one time/limited/whatever use versions of the modules, MC for permanent unlocks where you only get to use it once/however many charges it has per match.

Can't wait to airstrike my teammates

I really don't think these consumables will be pay to win though. Sounds like you'll be able to buy them with MC or c-bills. I just hope the c-bill cost is a bit on the high side because this game really needs more c-bill sinks.

Seeing how PGI has done things they will be fair about it.
