And here's me saving up for an Atlas-RS 4xLL 1xGauss build. Prepare your ankles, commandos.

I haven't had a problem hitting light mechs and ravens after that one patch that improved the lag shield. I play regularly on 130-150 ping. I don't see this new hit detection as a big deal, you can already hit the lights easily.

Personally as a light pilot I am HAPPY that lag shield is being worked on. I only use direct fire weapons (Jenner with 2 srm 4's and 4 lasers) and without lag shield I might be able to kill those stupid streakers :D.

That said a good pilot doesn't need lag shield. Just don't be in their line of sights. (Use cover and JJ's.)

I see you all talking crap about light mechs, but some of you (looking at a few founders here) were complaining about Jenners in Closed Beta before there was a lagshield. So I wouldn't get too cocky, you still have to aim and a good majority of you can't even hit the broadside of a 75kph CPLT-C1.

I believe this one helps those with lower pings hit the ones with higher. I could be wrong though.

And collisions, though in my Jenner I was more the person running into the enemies than actually shooting them. Which is why I'm glad they were removed until something better comes along.

I main lights and I'm happy to see the fixes. It will help separate us skilled pilots even further from those that just blow balls. Bring the collisions back too plz.

So when this goes in, does that mean that players can no longer complain about lights if they get destroyed by one?
Pretty please? With sugar on top? :D

IMHO, players who can't aim will still have the same issues as before the patch.
The same thing happened when the netcode was unexpectedly improved a couple patches ago.

Ideally this State Rewind fix will just make the game as playable for European and Australian players as it currently is for North American players.

After they include ballistics and missles and we know it works you sure can.

Hell, it didn't even have to be enemies. I played a Commando, and they would trip on a slight bump in the terrain.

It was pretty frustrating.

They were still calling for Jenner nerfs despite collisions. Most of the time it was lights running into other lights so their teammates could get a clear shot. I know I would run with a buddy and do that. Jenner wolfpacks were greatly feared back then.

Yeah but said Jenner packs tended to run into each, trip, other and get blasted the second they screwed up.

Exactly. Though I technically died more than the guy i just ran over due to the way the netcode got all kinds of messed up from collisions.

Exactly what I thought about it.
People that can´t hit the Lights (or a Barn Door :D)with the new HSR will still coplain there is a kind of "Lagshield" this will never stop.

Yes bring back Collisions - but not as before,as Mechs felt as Drunken Idiots stumbling over every little bump or so.

Collisions in any way, even the old way, would make MWO a lot better game.

And no, no matter how much lagshield is fixed, people will complain when they get destroyed by light mechs.
And they will!
All this fix could do is separate the good pilots from the bad.

I'm flying (yes flying) Spiders atm. Looking forward to the lagfix for two reasons.
- It shouldn't feel like I'm in a top predator when flying a Spider. Had a match where I killed 4 of the other team. That feels wrong.
- It's easier to hit the Cockpits of larger mechs again :P
While the heavier mech pilots cried about the lag they didn't realize that their Cockpits got protected by lag too :D

I don't think this fix will help much with the Ravens. They have horrible hitboxes. Not the 2X or 4X but the 3L. I was looking forward to that hero cicada with 4 ML, 2 Streaks it could've been the end to the Raven domination if it would've had ECM

I'm most excited about our foreign friends having a fair game now with the lag fix tomorrow. Back when Half Life 1 implemented the same system, it had a profound effect on people playing on dialup. They suddenly could compete with low ping high-bandwidth players that they never would have been able to before the rollback fix.

Not affecting ballistics and missiles?

Oh, well, I think there are some hopes that will be shattered tomorrow. I'll still get my 3L out of storage and have a few matches tonight.

Haven't there been several net code fixes/tweaks?

Why is everyone getting their hopes up for this one?

Cause the last code fix worked rather well and I kill lights now. Another improvement and I might be able to slaughter them!

anyone trying to laser, machine gun, or flamer down a light probably has way bigger problems than just hit detection
