Sounds to me like you have small "stats"

"Lies, damned lies, and statistics" is a phrase describing the persuasive power of numbers, particularly the use of statistics to bolster weak arguments. It is also sometimes colloquially used to doubt statistics used to prove an opponent's point.

My work here is done.

Yes, but the payout is in c-bills unfortunately.

Bah, at least in EVE you had an exchange rate to real money.

I am interested in more stats and stats of others (not particular players per se, but just what percent of damage came from LRMs on which maps type stuff) so I can analyze trends for my unit.

You know, I figured the winky face at the end would clearly allow people to get the joke and not actually be targetted at the guy. I thought wrong apparently.

Better they implement an opt-in for this, having to spend time to purposely tank my stats would not be nice.

Personally, I can't wait to be able to see what 'Mechs people are driving.

It will allow me to better discern viable feedback from biased defenses ("ECM and Streaks are totally fine" - signed, a 3L pilot).

Aside from that I also think it'll simply be fun. Do we really have anything to hide here? :D

I don't mind showing my stats. They are terribad because when I started before the cadet bonus and decided Centurion I didn't realize the learning curve. And I wasn't on the boards and I've been mostly full on pugging.

But I handle myself well now. People will underestimate me.

Yep, here come the e-peen wavers using their fluffed up KDRs to silence anyone who doesn't agree with their narrow perspective of the game.

And what IS terrible exactly?

-Not having a K/D over 0,5?
-Not winning X matches
-Being a good team player
-Etc

If someone has a KD ratio of 2 and is GOOD but manages to be a complete *******, the kind of *** you want to beat into a bloody pulp because he has the ability to insult exactly EVERYONE by having acompletely horrible personality.

Is that a good KILLER - yes
Is that a good PLAYER - perhaps
Is he a good TEAM player - most likely not

So stats in general are unimportant if the the guy who makes sure the team WINS gets 0 kills but a gloryhound gets 4.

I'll pick the guy who died.

That said, my stats are most likely terrible but I havent looked at them.

Oooof Blastman... ouch. Say it ain't so?

Comments like this are the exact reason why I think that these stats should never be public. All this serves to do is breed elitism in the community - moreso than it already exists today. We don't need more of that, in my opinion.

I'd like to think most folks will agree (and it's already been show in many responses on the forums) that when a game becomes a statocracy, people's thoughts of those with "lower" stats are generally that those players' input/ideas are somehow less meaningful than those with "greater" stats. I mean c'mon... I've seen people use the number of forum posts a person has as some kind of measurement as to their knowledge of the game. Seriously?

It's just a bad idea for the community's cohesion. It's strained enough as it is between those who play competitively and those who do not... all this will do is widen that rift.
