Sell vanity, sell customization, sell time-savers. Cool stuff goes a long way if done right - the red/white snake statue was just too amateur for example (apologies to the artist). Animated or interactive mech textures would be nice (chrome/mirror or light-absorbing black with moving stars). I'd rather have a pink fur texture on sale than power in whichever guised form.

This seriously would work. 80's cartoons did the same thing. Provide the cartoon for free, sell the **** out of plastic toys, PJ's, towels, hats, etc.

If you don't get one of the nice items, you get some lamearse time-limited cockpit item.
A similar idea works great for TF2. Valve is pretty much printing money with that game.

Other examples like these Pirates with skulls on their Cockpit, spikes, etc.
As a side note, Giant Axe Wielding Mech is awesome.

Also, an upgraded salvage mechanic that awarded you salvage items after a battle that you could hire techs to strip down; you could sell the scrap for c-bills (no cost to player), hire better techs with c-bills for a chance to salvage weapons or make more c-bills than selling for scrap, or hire elite techs with MC that could provide a large c-bill bonus, several components including structural components like engines, or perhaps even a salvaged 'Mech chassis.

In a game like league, champions never cost more than $10, and currently, other than my $120 contribution on legendary, I cannot justify spending $30 for a single heavy mech.
I think sales will go up if prices come down. I think that 6k mc should go for roughly $10-$12, so that someone can buy a heavy with around that much, with assaults maxing out at $15-$17.
After that, the mc for buying a new mech bay can go up to 900 mc so that it still matches the price of $1.50 like before (as I find this a fair price for new mech slots, and would have no problem with it being $2-$3).
If people say this will cost PGI money, I would rebuke that it will not. As of right now, buying a single mech costs more than paying per month for a game like World of Warcraft, and until prices drop or a major sale comes up, I will probably not be spending any more money on this game, as it is much more efficient for me to grind cbills with my founders. If spending money becomes a viable option (aka, less than $30 for a decent mech) then I will consider that route instead.

re-introduce repair and re-arm C-bill costs.
and salvage, please
(one CW gets going and the framework for this is workable, ofcourse)

Those items detracted from the game. i didn't find them the least bit enjoyable.
if PGI wants my money they need to provide me a reason to give it to them.
if it modifies game play its pay to win. if it makes me more money then its a quality of life benifit
shortening the cash grind for more mechs.
