I would like to get a mouse that has more buttons for playing MWO. Currently I have a Logitech G500. I have narrowed my choices down to three: Logitech G600, Razer Naga, and Razer Naga Hex. The only problem is, I've never used a Razer mouse before and I heard they are a little on the smaller side. I went to Best Buy to look but they don't have demo units for the gaming hardware. I don't have big hands but I do have long fingers. Any advice?

I would get the Logitech purely based on their better build quality. I had one Razer mouse (Imperator) in between a long run of Logitechs and immediately went back to Logitech.

Had the MX518 and am now using the G400 (its almost identical successor).

Logitech has superior build quality. I'm not saying Razer stuff falls apart after 5 mins, but...

I'm using the G700. Bit more pricey, but I love my wireless.

I personally use the Microsoft Sidewinder, because it's got a big grip profile, and its wired. I'm not a fan of wireless, because there always seems to be a tiny bit of lag compared to the wired ones. Also, I've heard that the Razor mice are pretty good.

I've got the G600 and it's pretty sweet imo, though I did see a review claiming it had a small bit of lag, specifically related to usage in MWO of all things. Nothing I've noticed personally ever but I'm not gonna shill it if I've heard something negative. The 12-button thumbpad freaked out my hand for the first week as it was like OMG WAT IS THIS but I've acclimatized nicely. My big sell was the braided mouse cable; my last G400 died from a short in the neck due to my desk arrangement and how the cord sat.

I've run Logitech joysticks and gamepads too, so I'm kind of a fan of their kit. Decently priced for the performance.

I'm not generally one to buy gaming mice. Played MMOs (not WoW) for years without ever even wanting one. I do like a couple extra buttons though, so when my mouse went, I had the option of buying a decent non-gaming mouse or spending not much more for a gaming mouse. Pretty simple choice

Tried a Logitech G700 and absolutely hated it. It had just about the right number of buttons to give me some options, was programmable and had dual wired/wireless modes. The macros I tried never worked right, the special software (not the one in the box) that is supposed to work better didn't recognize it and the cord is crap. You have the option of wireless in a mouse that eats batteries like candy or a cord that doubles as a charger... and is about 3 times as thick and 10 times as stiff as a normal mouse cord. It would literally push the mouse around if I pulled enough on top of the desk to keep it from binding, which is what happened if I tried to tuck it behind the desk. And the thumb buttons are awkward sizes and in an awkward place, so I'd have to shift grip to use them, screwing up my aim.

Using a Razer Naga now. Has more buttons than I wanted, but is otherwise great. No problems with the construction. It came with 3 grips, so I was able to find one to fit my meaty paws. The cord is long, braided and flexible. I haven't used a corder mouse in years, but I got no complaints so far.

I have owned several razer mice and have not had any problems with them. I have owned several razer products and the only one I have ever had a problem with was the Onza TE controller due to the rubber coating coming off of the thumb sticks. That problem was quickly taken care of with very little effort in contacting support. If they make a product that you are interested in then more than likely you will have a good experience with it.

Logitech all the way. I have been using their mice for 20(?) years now and none of em ever broke. I would love to go with some smaller manufacturer but i simply cannot justify it because they worked so well with me.

Logitech does make good products, I tend to avoid their mice due to personal issues that do not in any way reflect their quality and still use other Logitech products. Have had dealings with their customer service in the past as well and was equally impressed with the manner in which they solved my problems.

Why would you buy a new mouse when you have a G500? I have that mouse and I personaly have enough buttons. Left + right mouse button, mouse wheel goes left and right (2 more buttons) and then the 3 thumb buttons.

The mouses you posted sure have a lot of thumb buttons, never like that when pressing those I always have a slight deviation to the right ^^;

Edit: forgot to mension that I own a Logitech G13, which I really like using.

I have the Razor Hex and love it. Considered the Naga but 15 thumb buttons to close to each other did not do it for me.

I almost bought a RAT, but damn those buttons are sensitive.

If none ever broke, why so many? Hmmm?

Just kidding, but the one that gave out on me was Logitech. It was kinda old, but I hadn't been using it for quite some time, so it was fairly new in terms of usage. It also went through batteries like nothing I've ever seen. Had a charging dock, so it wasn't a problem for normal usage, but would drain fast when gaming.

:) optical mice went a long way since they've been invented. I still got my dual-optical and others somewhere in the basement. They work.

I use my 6 years old MX518 and i hope the G400 is still around if i ever feel the need to get a "fresh" one.

Well, only one thumb button is convenient for me to use with my grip. I have to reach for the other two, which just doesn't work for me in battle. I honestly didn't know you could map tilt left and right as buttons! I will try that and see how I like it.

I'm using my imperator right now and I love it. Over a year old and still going strong. I'm not sure what you people are doing to your Razer mice to break them but I guess logitech is more childproof

Razer only, if you get anything other, you're settling with less.
