Didn't you already have a thread about coolant pods? Anyway, good catch on Garth saying complete opposite of what is going to happen, lulz.

SPELL of Cooling! Cast once/game. Comes in Double Minor and Major. Major requires a sacrifice of gold as a material component though.

Spells usually have components which take up space and add weight. ^_^

It's a simple mnemonic spell that you memorize beforehand. You just rest between each battle, sacrifice your gold if it's a Major Cooling, and bang, spell's back next battle. Easy peasy.

It's the Meteor Strike spells that really worry me though. Same projected casting style.

I suggested it elsewhere... but a command chair post on the coolant flush concept would probably clear a lot of things up, and might even calm folks (me included) down.

Well, to be fair: PGI is always allowed to change its opinion if it has new facts. After all, we want them to correct their mistakes, right?

The questions may be:
1) What facts changed to warrant a change of the position?
2) Do we agree with their new position (regardless of reasoning)?

Coolant is a bandaid to the real problem.

DHS for IS is a factor of 1.7x not 1.4x Clan is a full 2.0x

Fix the multi and fix the problem.

**side note** coolant flush in MWLL worked well. Having X cooling % increase is BS

Going to introduce a coolant flush please do it right the first time.

I wish I could Like the OP 50 times - that's an incredible find. This is the single best argument against coolant flush as a concept, P2W questions aside. In PGI's own words it has limited utility unless you make it so powerful that it becomes a "crutch" that enables poor build design and heat management. As designed, this thing would be a bad idea even without the MC factor.

FWIW, I actually don't even think the MC version is "better" or P2W at all - there are real tradeoffs to both setups. This is just an annoying, pointless mechanic that won't add anything positive to the game.

If they implemented an arena or some type of method to drop UnitvsUnit consistently I'd be paying them a monthly fee of MC.

It does have a somatic component though. So all you have to do is prevent other players from using their hands and all will be well.

Ok. They dropped the idea from consideration.. didn't figure it would be worth it if it didn't last a fight.
And.. picked it back up.

Apparently they were wrong about it not being worth looking into, since it wouldn't last a fight. They picked up the one-time-use 15-35% heat drop, and suddenly it's overpowered.

Also: dropping an idea because they think it isn't worth it != promising..

I've said this for months now. I am amazed at the number of people that act like this guy is our best buddy. He's a salesmen pitching a product. How long do you think this plan has been in place? It's not like they just woke up Sunday morning and decided to put this into the game this month. I would be willing to bet it's been in the plan since day 1, it's how most f2p games work.

How can so many people find this surprising?
