Unlike the PB and DK there isn't a single thing wrong with this mech.

PS. I don't say this to make you feel bad - I'm a Spider pilot. I'd be crying myself to sleep at night anyway.

Other than that those Missile hardpoints rock. I've put two SRM 6 on and replaced the torso ML with SL until I unlock speed tweak.

well, maybe to help surive crap streak ravens and commandos? Outside of about 150m AMS actually takes out a few streak missiles. Anyway, that is not the point. The point is that EVERY other mech has it. Hero or not. There is no reason the x-5 should not have it. It fits on streak commandos. Fits on the ilya. Why not the cicada?

I beg to differ. I killed one X-5 and severely crippled another X-5 in a match this night in my Jenner. And I'm not that exceptional as a pilot. Both were loaded with MLs and SSRMs. I eventually was destroyed by a Treb and another Jenner. Most fun I've had in a while. Definitely not P2W.

No Artemis is not needed with the two tube layout. The spread only get's noteworthy at max range.
Also I can tell from experience with my 2A that on a elite CDA 4 ML will not get you into heat trouble even if you just use the 10 engine heatsinks. The only sacriffice you make is some speed. But also from experience with my 2A i can tell you that too much speed adversely affects your aim. Aiming for speed around 120 to 130ish is enough. 150 is nice to do some tactical quirks such as distraction caps and the like. But with lagshield mostly gone you're better off sticking with the pack and leaving such things to true lights which are better suited for that due to their smaller sillhouettes.

All this discussion about what you can do with the X-5, you need to ask yourself, is there another mech that can already accomplish this more efficiently?
SRM boat: Jenner/Centurion A or D
LRM boat: Trebuchet
Laser boat: Jenner, Treb 3C
Streak boat: Raven, Treb 7M, Commando 2D

I understand that ECM could be viewed as P2W with the missile load out + speed capabilities but at least put AMS on this thing. Everyone says you can outrun LRMs ... while yes it may be physically capable of this feat its not always possible/plausible. EVERY SINGLE OTHER MECH HAS AMS! Yes I would devote that 2.5 tons. Would have preferred a Ballistic hard point but the missiles are nice. And as someone pointed out ... while the benefit of AMS to the Cada itself may be negligible its the all around support it brings. Please PGI tell us this was an oversight of some last minute tweak before the patch was applied. I already bought the X-5 and will/do drive it but give it AMS :/
