It's "how the game is supposed to work."

Light mechs are actually still immensely strong. You just need to actually maneuver now, and not depend on the lag protecting you.

Non-streak lights actually benefitted from this change to some extent, as they are now able to consistently land damage on 3L's.

No it's the fact that light mechs are no longer immune to bad choices.

Wrong because it's hitbox is still messed up.

It has a fairly sleek profile if thats what you mean, in comparison to a Jenner.

Yep. The speed of a light mech already gives the huge advantage when it comes to dictating the terms of engagement, and being able to evade the fire arcs of mechs, in addition to more strategic advantages of capturing points early, base feints, etc. Lights were never meant to be in-the-middle-of-the-furball-brawlers. There can be no "gone too far" when it comes to making sure that what a player sees on his or her screen is the same as what the server detects.

This is odd. Yesterday I played my speedy spider and had very nearly the best survival I ever had, and did the most damage. No one hit kills whatsoever. May have just been me turning competent, but really, it felt about right.

nothing is wrong, you're just actually being hit now and your cardboard light mech armor can't handle the amount of punishment you're used to.

not the hit boxes on ravens are really borked, I was in the training ground and standing still at about 100 meters away my laser shots registeres on both legs or ocasionally the damge was spreadung itself without me moving my mouse(using medium laser)

One other thing, I think the leg damage mechanic was reworked/fixed. I had a couple of heavies with only 20 leg armor, and their legs were getting vaporized all of a sudden until I increased their leg armor. Other than that...I think it's fine that lights can actually be targeted now. One light should not abe able to easily take down an atlas 1v1.

I believe that the only thing about ravens that is messed up about its hit boxes, are that multi-component limbs tend to drop damage from explosive weapons. But this is the same with all mechs who have lots of leg parts (like jenners).

This doesn't really impact killing ravens though, because their legs are effectively the worst thing to target on them.

When you want to kill a raven, you punch it in the side torso. It's a huge target compared to the rest of the mech. And it has exactly the same amount of armor as their leg... and unless their build is terrible, they are running an XL engine. So when you kill the side torso, using exactly as much damage as it would have taken to kill their leg, they'll die instead of just being slowed down.

My Jenner is killing ECM Cicadas, Commandos and Ravens left and right :-)

BUT I always run away when there are mechs with large (pulse) lasers like the LazorCat or something with Streaks. And I got killed by LRM and an AC20 today xD

I don't attack anything which doesn't focus any other mech or is already heavy damaged. I don't run alone on the small maps... And I get fare less exp as my Cats but the same numbers of kills.

I think Commando's and Spiders have there hit boxes fixed. I think the hit boxes on Raven are still the same....Bugged. I could be wrong though.

Oh, I like shooting legs on heavys :-P Most don't have much armor AND muni in it xD

So without lag you fail as a light pilot? Thats happening alot these days...

Agreed, but the other lights seem quite hittable now and they seem to be taking damage.

I wish I could feel bad for you, but I don't. In fact when the rest of the weapons come online and knockdowns lights will be hunted by me and my pack for at least a month relentlessly. As they say Payback is a Byatch.

I will drive MORE lights when knockdown comes back. Maaaaan I miss those days. Being a light pilot was effing DANGEROUS. Such a thrill.
