Anyone else have these nights... where it just seems like the game is out to make your life hell?

Going through a 5 match drought right now (taking a break before I smash my mouse)...

Bad karma for white knighting today or did you guys whip out the voodoo doll on me again?

I started out tonight with 5 straight losses. Then I had 5 wins. Then joined an 8man and went 4 or 5 wins and 1 loss. Got pwnt by jump snipers on caustic.

This happens on and off for me, sometime I would drop in with a good team and is ashamed to see everyone is dealing twice of more damage than me.
Other time I top the chart but still lose the match, or worst when I out damage the winning team's top scorer.

It's gonna happen. You're going to win 10 in a row sometimes, and you're going to lose 10 in a row sometimes. If everything is working right, hopefully very few times, but the day will come.

Just gotta take the good with the bad and call it a night when you sense a loss streak coming on.

See, that's my problem. I start losing and I won't stop until I win again. OCD Ftl >.>.

That win is the sweetest victory ever though, especially When you headshot a K2 and a DDC in it (Just happened after a 7 game losing streak)

ETA: The K2 pilot said "Nice Shot". The DDC Pilot raged hard.

While I try to play my best, it just doesn't happen some times. While I enjoy playing, I'm still saving up c-bills for more stuff so trudge on even if it's a long string of losses~ ;)

Yesterday was the oposite for me, infact I had one of my most rewarding games yesterday. Match started with me taking position in a sniper 3D. Cored out a trebuchet. As the trebuchet fell back, I noticed it was pretty much alone, so I agressively went after it. Flanked the treb. and got the kill, after which I notice I was on top of the other teams LRM cats. Dispatched them with minimal trouble(guass/ppc at 150 meters vs a missle boat=dead missle boat) and started fighting another trebuchet at mid-range. Ran out of ammo and pulled back from the trebuchet. Went after a base cap(one of our light mechs had alrdy started the cap). Started capping when the last trebuchet I was fighting came after me. Did alittle dodging ring-around-the-roses dance with the trebuchet at his base. Trebuchet pilot made a bad turn, so I got back in the base cap zone and got the cap before the trebuchet could get turned around and get back in the cap zone to stop me. Definently not the most kills I've ever gotten in a match(7 is my best), but I enjoyed the hell out of that game. Only played 4 games yesterday, 3 wins, 1 loss, two deaths, 8 kills, all while pugging and not running with anyother Kaos member.

Oh absolutely.

Yesterday is a great example:
I rebuilt my trusty CN9-A from multi-purpose to brawler (triple ASRM-6), and got three kills in the first drop. Then two kills per match in the next two matches. After three matches I was 7-0 in kills/deaths. Then it started...

Killed first, after about 2 minutes, less than 100 damage done.
Stupidly ran around doing sweet f-all before getting cored by a hexa-LL Stalker.
Obliterated by LRMs because I'm dumb enough to try and rush the lone bait in the water.
...and so on. The night ended 7-8 in kills/deaths when I said "F this, I should have quit two hours ago..."

It's just so HARD to quit on a loss... ;)

Yeah MM is a total gamble some days. Some days you lose horribad and get the usual scrubs. Some days the scrubs tend to land on the other side and you can farm them for hours.
In the long term it should even out, in the short term its just horribad that the MM grabs whatever people are in the cycle.

Yeah, I've had a couple of <100 DMG fights since patch. Mostly because of getting killed so early in the game due to bad choices (I hope). Last night I played 6 or so games and it felt I was getting murdered in every one, even though the stats tell me we won 4 of 6.

A lot of variables in each game, what with the random nature of the groups... sometimes you feel like you can do no wrong (personal best: 5 kills) and other times you get hung up in scenery in the dark and get killed by something that you should have eaten for breakfast.

At least the good outweighs the bad.

Does getting River City (Night) 5 times in a row count? :)

I got team killed by someone for suggesting going water without ECM is stupid ( it's stupid ). First person I've ever reported by the way.
I've seen about 50% of my matches end with 4 or more teammates doing less than 100 damage.

While I think team killers are scum, going water without ECM is not stupid if you're a smart jump sniper or mobile LRM mech, stick to cover, and know when to retreat if the enemy team comes bowling through. Don't assume you're some kind of master tactician and we'll all be peachy.
