Can We Expand The Range Of Mechs That Can Run Ecm?

Could we please institute some type of plan to enable all mech types to use ECM? How many RVN 3Ls do we really need in this game? Or D-DCs?
ECM doesn't so much promote tactics as trump them. Make it an even playing field... I don't want to have to start playing Cicadas or Ravens. Enable ECM use for every chassis, or at least a broader spectrum.

PGI really needs to address this in some way by another countermeasure - or simply just don't use double blind ECMs.

1.5ton/2crit each and it will be fine and balanced.

The advantage to ECM equipped chassis would therefore be that they get it without using up a module slot.
But I agree. The system is currently way too binary--there are a lot of ways jamming can be added to the game that don't involve total binary blindness (for instance, making there be a delay but not a total inability to target someone, like maybe 5 seconds after they enter your LOS they blip onto your screen)

lights and mediums seem to bend ECM to make it too strong. i think it works better as an umbrella that your team takes shelter under, instead of a fast moving hunter killer's best defense

As the game is expanding and new features are added natural nerfs are balancing it. If it's seriously a problem take tag or a ppc and learn how to shoot with em. Start dropping with 4/8 mans with comms and actually use it for something other than trash talk. Stage 2 state rewind (which will then be all weapon systems using it) will be the death of the ecm lights as the powerhouses they were 3 months ago as long as you have a stable ping (if it jumps around a lot sucks to be you).
More ecm is just going to have to force more counters, wasting resources that could be better used getting more mechs out, new equipment, and closer to clan tech/community warfare.

They're already far less dangerous than before. My 3 mlas Trebuchet could actually defend itself- my 4 large laser Catapult was just hilarious.
