I rather see tanks and infantry added into a Moba style game mode.

No, the original purpose was to fit the little japanese plastic toys they'd bought. There was no infantry or tanks until much later.

Machineguns and flamers both do 2 damage, but have the seriously serious drawback of practically no range. Please don't talk about BT ever again, thank you very much. It's obvious from threads like these that you people have never touched the game, and never will.

In battletech, infantry are a serious threat to mechs, and tanks post-3030 carry mech guns, fusion engines, serious levels of armor, and are much cheaper to field than mechs. Both are dangerous, and not NPC trash you grind your hero on for loot and EXP.

My Mistake. I only based my information on things like

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/MG
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Locust
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Firestarter

I apologize for basing my ideas on my original version of the TR 3025.

I'm clearly the d*ck here.

The only issue with this is the amount of AI they would need to program into the game, which would take a LOT of time and effort.

While I would love to see this down the road, it wouldn't be made a priority any time soon.

You ever heard of battledroids? Of course you haven't.
Stop linking to sarna. Sarna's like wikipedia links. You lose instantly if you link there.

Even the goons know this, and by pretending that machineguns are 'anti-infantry,' you've proven that you have absolutely no idea how the game works, no matter if you own actual books or not.

Am i the only one finding it odd with superhero infantry running at 24km/h.... O_o

hmm...power armored jump infantry are...infantry...

so MG's are of enough caliber to punch through power armour...

20 to 40mm vehicle mounted machine gun arrays then - or twin 20mm ww2 style anti-air guns

Yes, it's crucial that we add 0.01 HP infantry to the game, rather than make bad weapons useful against actual mechs.

But c'mon man that's how it's balanced man you take MGs and flamers to deal with infantry MAN

Yes, because we only want to see Infantry and Vehicles to give us a reason to carry MG's.

I support this idea, and I love that you mocked it up to look like their consumables post

Uh.... The original purpose of MG's and Flamers was for infantry.

You are very, very wrong. The door is right above you, to the top right. It's red with an X on it, for "exit"

This isn't league of legends.

but i want to shoot tiny people and baby tanks with my big mech weapons the numbers can float into the air and then when i've killed enough little infantry and smaller tanks I can head back to base and buy an item that gives me the ability to run 15% faster.

Then i can charge back up my lane and attack the er ppc turrets my own tiny men are getting gunned down by!

Demolisher Lance with 8 AC-20s and ten tons armor each would be pretty scary...

I really like this idea, call of duty 3 did it with survival mode, where you call in infantry.

I always thought there should be a game mode that spawns armor and infantry over time and when it reaches a pre-determined strength it will leave your spawn and proceed to the enemy spawn, capping it if not stopped.

Did I just hear a perfect example of a Push mission type?

Two bases which spawn some type of infantry, fast attack armor, and heavy armor. They will push to the other team's side. Once a base is taken out, the game is over. Four bases will exist, the HQ, barracks, and two different vehicle depots. Destroy one of those bases and they will no longer spawn.

Interestingly, I have never seen a Push style map with permanent deaths.

It would probably require a drop ship mode added to it to work decently.

thats because even one death on a push style map is instant victory for the team that kills said player.

Edit: fixed a pretty big deeerp

The maps save Alpine and upcoming desert, are postage stamps not really big enough for 16 mechs. You want to shove more stuff into that tiny sandbox? This ain't a George Lucas remaster!

i hope to hell alpine is the biggest map size they are planning.

It's utterly devoid of features and you spend half the game wandering about searching for an enemy even if you are in a 150 kph mech. it's just not fun.
