So I found this interesting bit on SARNA.NET authoritative authority on all things BattleTech LORE:

So, let's have it then!

Have a module that calls in an emergency field repair team. Maybe some sort of automated flying drone. You call it in and it comes flying to you and hovers over your head, and when you power down, it starts repairing your armour. Maybe it repairs like 50% of total max armour. So if you're at 25% armour, it'll repair it to 75%; if you're at 50% it'll repair to 100%. If you're at 0 it'll repair it to 50%.

It wouldn't repair internals, just armour. It'd basically be a Repair Bot, coming to slap some more ablative armour on you.

That it requires you to power down (and leave yourself vulnerable) for a few seconds is a good "weakness".

I'll agree to this only of it keeps the original repair timings of 15 min per point of armor. That sounds balanced to me.

Belongs in "Suggestions".

I'm mostly against this idea because it opens the door for realy outragous "Healer" stuff.

If done at all. It should take much longer then a few seconds to repair atleast 50% armor.

No, thank you.

Nothing personal, but this could easily be abused by lights that can run way off to the other end of the map, repair, then be right back in action.

It's either respawn game types or no respawn.

Negative on the repair.

How about you get slowly repaired when you cap at nodes? Might actually get people to go to them instead of lights.

So in MWO terms that is 2 points of armor every per match... not a lot of value there

If they keep it at 1 point in 15 minutes then I would be fine with it. Feel free to stand still for the entire match while they repair 1 point of damage.

NO! Oh utterly totally opposed, I feel non-physical coolant pod style flush is wrong, this just breaks things too much. The level of work required to repair 'Mechs is hours, not minutes and definitely not seconds.

Yeah we're being trolled but I'm still going to say no to the idea. The repair system works great in a game like hawken, every time I use it I scroll around me hoping a enemy doesn't come zipping around the corner and catch me but in a game like MechWarrior it just doesn't fit.

I kind of feel like the ablative nature of MechWarrior armor is part of what lends the game its flavor, though. Getting hurt matters, because once the armor's off it's not going back on- even getting raked by a laser is dangerous, because that's one or two points of armor less between you and the outside world.

Pilots are getting heavily encouraged to avoid getting hit, and/or to try to force the incoming fire onto less essential parts. You have a predefined limited lifespan on the field and it takes real skill to get the absolute most out of it. So you don't have pilots who run in, blaze away, and then try to disengage to repair, you actually have people trying to minimize the damage they take in the first place, because they actually care about that first 50% of their armor.

Besides, drones that could hover with enough stability to actually effect 'mech repair, let alone carry tons in armor payload, sounds like something that would be really, really lostech.

Didn´t like repair cost? You will love our revamp.

Mechs from now on repair 2 points of armor every 15 minutes.

Play safe.

Will take some time till you can play your wrecked Atlas again.

Player 1 disconnects.

Player 2 calls Emergency Field Repairs.

The original coolant flush doesn't work in 1 second. :)

15 mins for 1 pt of armor...sure, the game has a time limit of 15 mins, so if you stay powered down the whole match and it goes for the entire match time, you can get 1 point of armor repaired.....

Seriously, field repairs are meant for when out of the combat zone or overnight etc....

This does not sound like something I would want in the game.

I want duct tapes!!! So that I can draw the cross hair on my cockpit when I off HUD. Other than that I want no field repairs.
