So they blind the snipers past 700 meters.
Thus reducing skill cap for this game, and making it more suited to old farts and kindergarten. Keep it up devs. But if you want to increase revenue, you must realize that your in game experience is not indicative of the higher tier players in game experience.

Of course, 360 vision is also a thing in the books (based on a 160 degree screen). So I understand all things can't be possible.
And the other common viewtype is Metallic Scanning/view. So again, can't get full immersion.

However, the color nerf is a bit overboard and will make it bland. I'd say go with the range nerf and see how that plays out. I'd just hate to run on Greyscale mode for most of River City Night, and during heavy snow storms in Frozen City.

So, with the change to night vision, ECM is going to get buffed, buffed a lot for lights. What are the devs going to see in their stats with the change to night vision:
-An increase in srm, streaks, ppc and AC
-An increase in ECM equipped lights
-Most kills taking place in the 250M and less range
You will also see:
-A SRM Cat explosion greater than a jellyfish bloom off Japan to handle with the increase in ECM Lights
If the developers want to put in the nightvision change, then they have to create sniping avenues in the maps such that you can't get from point A to B without being exposed ONCE to sniper fire that is visible with the new night vision.
With the recent PPC change, I moved my SRM Cat to a tertiary position, because PPC/LRM/Streaks were a lot more viable. However with this new change, it is obvious that sniping is taking a hit and ECM is getting a buff and so you will be getting a lot more light packs again. So I'll be breaking out my light killing machine. Well, lights that are bad, which are 80% of them when fighting SRM Cats.
Lastly, whoever is running your gaming analytics as a Director, needs a lot of help. Its been a while since I've seen a game with such wild swings to gameplay mechanics.

I do agree that this does exacerbate the issues with super team stealth shield ECM.
Give us expensive, heavy and cumbersome stealth armor that people can buy that affects their mech for that. Mech by mech basis. Maybe have it be slightly less effective or something but pretty much block radar detecting by hostiles outside of 50 or 100m without TAG/NARC, which lasts then until LOS is broken, then it must be re-established.
That, combined with these vision modes would be awesome.

Night vision is meant to be used like normal vision except during night. And anytime you would use normal vision, night vision is not going to help.
But the chance of thermal vision is extremely needed. And the idea of having a module upgrade thermal vision to color coded is a great idea.

The above is all assuming clear, high visibility conditions.

Indeed. A powered-up Mech on a snow plain in good weather should be clearly visible for many kilometers using ANY vision mode. Anything else is just broken mechanics to badly fix other broken mechanics. Don't do it!

I can see any mech in clear weather conditions all the way across maps. That is 1200-1400 m easily. Special sight modes do not need this, also some maps have conditions where sight is reduced on purpose.
To me it is working as intended. And no, you are not supposed to see everything to your max ballistics range (3x full damage range).
