Best Heavy Other Than Catapult

So I've got a K2 that I wuv whole bunches. We spend quality time together walking on the beach and enjoy the sunset and shooting people.
Time for another heavy though.
I hear mixed reviews on Dragons. Is there a solid build anyone would recommend?
Cataphracts too. Suggestions? Recommendations? A brawler, a sniper, not too picky. Just something to go have fun in consistently.
What's the best Heavy variant and build you've ever played and why?

Brawler Phracts are notoriously squishy because of their MTS issue (Massive Torso Syndrome).
Double AC/5 + Double UAC CTF-4X is also fun as hell, if closer to the average/mediocre end of the spectrum overall.

We can pretend an Awesome is actually a heavy right?

true going toe to toe with a cataphract will leave you crying, and trying to outsnipe a gausscat will not pay off. But i have a hard time building a mech with the survivabilty, firepower, and mobility that a dragon offers.

Not always true. I've got all three non-hero Dragons with finished elite tier, and I can say that I come off better than most Cataphract or Catapult in a direct engagement, depending on their build. If they want to snipe, good on them. Cataphracts with AC5s and UACs typically mount an XL, so if you practice at focusing your fire on specific points on an enemy mech, you can kill them easy. A Dragon only needs an XL if you plan to hunt Lights, because it's default engine puts it at 81kph, just as fast as a default Raven. With speed tweak, that puts it at 89kph, just short of the current Trial Commando. Only mechs I struggle with are Splatcats with surprise tactics, and the occasional AC20-mounting heavy doing the same.

Also from perspective of an Atlas pilot i think cataphracts are much more of a threat than awesomes. Phract has a lot of dakka while Awesome is usually just more of an annoyance than much of a threat.. Make of it what you will. Im waiting for Orion myself.

They can be fun to play, but that doesn't make them less bad.

2erppc
3medlaser
20DHS
make sure and put the erppcs in the torso's so you can peek over hills and fire while protecting 90% of your mech. the 3 arm mounted lasers come in handy as well. Dont forget, no min range on erppc! And also dont forget to switch to chain fire on the ppc's if you get too hot. Dont shut down or you're dead!
I know its weird to not use the ballistic hardpoint, but those torso energy hardpoints are just absolutly perfect for working w/ ppc's.
The cataphract is not my favorite heavy, but I despise the catapult and the stupid dragon. Jagermech looks promising, but its still kinda meh. The orion, tho, now that will prolly be the first mech i get all variants and master/elite the entire set.
