It's also one of the hardest to program in a game like this, haus.

How would you know? Do you have information that we do not?

You know, same treatment and all.

Sure, here's a simple exercise:

Write and post a code module that allows you to reconnect to a match in progress that bypasses all of the initial startup code and sequences and puts you in the same mech that you disconnected from.

;)

It already knows what match a mech is in, as it become available again after the match is over.

The client should already know the what & where.

Not saying you are wrong, but some of the groundwork would need to be present in the client currently.

Please let the "melee weapons" concept make it into development, I would especially love to pilot an Axman into battle (, the 2N variant is my favourite). This addition to the game would add another level to the gameplay, something that especially the hardcore battletech fans have been waiting for and the more casual gamers will have a lot of fun with!

for anyone who doesn't know what an Axman is: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Axman

PLZ let it happen!!!!

Since when did they announce the Griffin and Wolverine?

Turns out the Wolverine was leaked in a CBC television news feature about Sarah's 'Mech.

That image comes from this video here, about 1:15 in

<now awaits someone to complain that people have to watch Canadian television news programs to get info on what PGI is working on>

I must admit, our new dev spectator mode is absolutely a joy to use and watch. I jumped in on an 8v8 grudge match - just plain cool! #mwo

@bryanekman My #1 request is a replay, moveable camera spectate mode so we can make awesome movies. You just made me squee.

Bryan Ekman ‏@bryanekman 29m
@squigiliwams the foundation work is done. For now it will be dev only, but we can look at making part of a future expansion.

squee ?

Cool to see the Wolverine in development, but where is it confirmed that the Griffin is in the works? Sorry if this has been posted, but I noticed it on the list but it didn't have a link so I was wondering where it was revealed.

Wolverine and Griffin are based on designs licensed from the same company as the Battlemaster, Locust, etc. If Battlemaster, etc are available - then so are both of those designs.

Russ confirmed that they were potential future mechs in an NGNG podcast.

We've already seen concept art of the Wolverine leaked out in a CBC television news feature about Sarah's Jenner (about 1:15 in). It's likely there could be a Griffin as well.

Might have missed it as I'm on my phone, but shouldn't achievements be listed in with the other UI 2.0 additions?

Otherwise though new format works well as more of a dot point overview.

I haven't seen any progress on achievements, the announcement was made before UI 2.0. If that changes, I'll be sure to update it.

I noticed that the Flea and Orion are no longer listed anywhere, is that an oversight or something more sinister?

Since it's known to already be in the game files, I'd wager it will be the Kintaro

Well, we just got the Victor, so it should be a Light, but, seeing as how we haven't gotten any new Light art for eons and the Flea is on hold, you're most likely right, unfortunately. I love me some Orion.

I love, love, love the Wolverine and even had the old 1:48 scale Robotech Defender model way back in the day. One thing, though: the scales of the mechs have been a bit of a head-scratcher.

Yes, height and width don't denote mass, but remember this is a game and size has a real impact on how survivable a mech is. If the Wolverine is around the same height as the Centurion, awesome. If it's the same size as a Highlander, which seems to be the pattern, not so awesome.
