How's the community warfare treating you, mate?
I guess the UI 2.0 getting delayed multiple times over a loooong period is just a hallucination.
Oh, look at all that ultimate first person, no coolant flush simulator we have!
I really enjoy the DX11 in this game, not to mention my love for role warfare and the constant battle for resources for my faction (the lobbies are so full of life)!
Tip of the iceberg here.
Are you for real or you're just pretending?

This is exactly why developers should never announce things, or openly discuss design, or mention dates. You have all these "adults" that turn into backseat children that repeatedly ask "are we there yet?" and get cranky, when they don't like the answer. No, no we're not there yet. People that don't have a clue how software developments works should have never been told any of this, they should have done what every other developer does and just said "no, we're not telling you."

Community warfare isn't here, and I'm not your mate, mate.

I am very much in reality land, we aren't so blind as to call design docs or underlined text 'promises.'

IMO that would have been worse, people would not stick around because of how long it has been since they first mentioned the pillars.

There are not many developers that dish out updates all the time, and keep everyone in the know. For everyone else, they all do just fine.

You are ignoring the fact that it wasn't just a wee delay, it wasn't just once, it wasn't "design documents" but hard dates. I can understand if something comes up and you have to delay. Hell, been there, bought the t-shirt (and the company had to pay a hefty sum for missing the deadline) - but it was days and not months or years. (no, that is not a hyperbole)

I know how software development works, also I know what deadlines are. Do you? Saying this is acceptable doesn't really give that impression.
I know that promising a feature and telling your customers that it's in the works and it will be worth the wait, then a year later telling them you didn't even start working on it is not "doing just fine".
The customer giving voice to dissatisfaction isn't a whiny little child throwing a tantrum nor an entitled manchild, mate.

But I guess it's just a matter of positions.
Welp, I'm out. The pig claimed another.

What context is there to get? People vent frustrations about the game, explain valid complaints, get told by Shillogy "WELL MAKE A BETTER GAME THEN," and then lo and behold 6 months later he comes to the same conclusion. That's all the context one should need.

yup, something is definitely afoot..

January 21st Update:
Updates to the content tracker are being suspended indefinitely. Unfortunately, I feel that while the game is playable, it is no longer fun to play. Until PGI adds provisions for private matches and streamlines the outrageously complicated rule set (in regards to heat penalties, movement, weapons etc.) I will be on hiatus from the game.

Funny fact. Syllogy was one of the biggest defensors of this game even after many PGIs wrong design decisions. When many others players left the game he stayed here for months updating this thread and fighting against the Islanders.

Now that he realised that this game don't worth the time spent and jumped off the sinking ship, the remaining MWO defensors turned against him.

It's tragicomical.

Views most if not all communications as; the developers promising features to the community.
Everyone ELSE is crazy, riiight.
Views all the dates as deadlines.
"I know how software development works," yet thinks missing these "deadlines" is unacceptable.
Even more, "They promised me a pony." Then, "I'm not an entitled manchild."

Makes you wonder what ISN'T a promise. You're right, "whiny little child throwing a tantrum" and "self entitled manchild" is not accurate, you also need to throw "thoroughly divorced from reality" in there, then it becomes accurate, mate.

NO, a DEV/mod needs to keep this updated.

They should have been doing it in the first place, not a random player.

Folks, this thread is dedicated to upcoming content. It is not the place for metadiscussions.

What upsets me is that there is no mention of them trying to get an EU server up and running after all this time.
I feel like they took my money and ran. I've waited so long but it seems it will never happen.
As it is now the game isn't playable for me since lag is so bad i can barelly go in the compass direction i want to go when things are bad.

I'm very dissapointed that they don't seem to give a damn about the players in EU who gave them money so long ago.
MWO is the best mech sim out there with nothing coming even close, but if this is how it's going to be then i can't play it.

A series of tweets from Russ on today's patch content:

Quote

Okay I was asked about some high points of tomorrow's patch so here are a few things to take note of

Quote

New UI 2.0 functionality is the error/warning widget for building mechs. For example no engine cant launch to heat scale issues

Quote

We have the strip mech button! it will allow you to check boxes for armor, equipment and modules. So strip all but armor for example

Quote

some good bug fixes in UI 2.0 both ones you know about and some you didnt including custom graphics settings working properly.

Quote

Daily dynamic pricing sales will be back on starting tomorrow with a fix the guys made

Quote

We do have some tweaks for Medium and Large Pulse lasers which should make them a little more desirable.

Quote

The firestarter variants for Cbills of course along with the ability to customize their camo patterns completely. Also Pimp my mech content

Quote

Other bugs fixes like a targeting bug in matches where mechs were near turrets and preventing target locks.

Wow, even now syll is disgustipated with PGI

Anyone else wanna pick up on my "Paul is bad for MWO" movement?

I still think that somewhere Bryan and Russ do want this game to be successful, but Paul seems to march to the beat of a different drum. His vision of MWO and apathy towards the franchise is in part why this game is so mediocre.
