We do not bring realism into games about giant robots piloted by space nobles.
But as we have allready started this little inane talk about jump jets; they should not be on\off like they are now, as boosting to max height and then running out of juice midair would be a DISASTER that should put severe stress on the myomer bundles, and even snap internal structure joints.
Jump jets should be automated by the computer so there are allways reserves to do a controlled decent, this more linear curve should be balanced out with much greater flight time, like mechs had in TT.
Shutting down midair would result in tumbling and damage to the side the mech lands on.
Such attention to detail is what would make the game stand out.

I am firmly convinced that physics existed in BT.
Either way, you bring about a point that I had basically glossed over...perhaps putting a more "laymen" spin on it would have been able to reach the intended audience better.

My best guess is that this allows the devs to maintain plausible deniability for a variety of those features that I hear about on streams, during twitch events, etc. that they are not ready to announce or give details for.

They are their own worst PR nightmare. That's very apparent.
You know, if they said it, it can't hurt to put the common disclaimers (all ideas are not final etc.), but what tends to happen is that they don't seem to let us know of other ideas they have come across and considered... so we simply come to the conclusion that they are dead set on the idea they plan to implement.

Why would they do that? Pretty sure someone made this up out of thin air. The other two jagers have a total of 8 hardpoints, so its balanced against that notion.

More than likely. I can speak from first hand experience - Unless a product can be 100% gauranteed you dont mention it. PGI have learnt in the past that making commitment statements can bite them hard unless they are met on time. That said, they do provide regular command chair update posts. I think they are more concerned with letting us know about the content coming up in the near future rather than everything that is way way off - that and the fact that community warfare is so secretive right now!

I'm excited for the UI 2.0 and Competitive Gaming feel once MWO is officially released.
