I know this is a bit of an older post but has anything come of this? Has there been any consideration of it on PGIs end?

There's another post referring to making endo/ferrofiber upgrades free. I think these two are related, as currently, in order to test your mech with a ferro/endo/double HS upgrade you need to actually pay Cbills to test them, and then pay Cbills again if you dont like the performance ... and then pay Cbills every other time you switch. I think either making the initial purchase for these upgrades to a mech - a one time affair - where parts are purchased and the mechwarrior then pays a nominal labor fee to have them removed/attached. Or, make a test bay! Where players can modify/experiment with any mech in the testing maps with out consequences.
