i love your concept designs, i just think the mech "dome" you made could be just slightly more bulbous and legs just a tiny bit shorter maybe. but overall this looks great to me. i would love to see the urbie in this game i dont care how many people trash it, it's awesome

I voted "Hmmmm... maybe if you tweaked it like so.... (explain in post, please)", but by the time I was going to explain what I wanted to tweak, I had already fallen in love with your design and now I would like to see an Urbanmech like that in the game.

Why should the Urbanmech be in this game? Well, it's iconic. I never even played the tabletop game, I didn't know the Urbanmech existed before I started playing MW:O and read about it on these forums. But like many others, I was intrigued and charmed and now I want an Urbanmech hero mech in police camo.

Urbie as a chassis wouldn't be much different than a Jenner or Raven. It's just supposed to be slow. Which means a low engine cap.

As has been seen via the AC/20 Raven, it can be done. And the Raven 4x is pretty much the same chassis... Jump jet capable, Ballistic mount in one arm, laser mount in the other. Just mirror swap the arms.

Going for an insane toros twist range could help the Urbie out here. Though the Raven also has a pretty good twist range.
It also needs a high base twist speed, otherwise it will do no good, since it will twist too slow with its engine.

You are also going to have an issue with construction of this mech with the current game rules.

The STD 60 engine to work would need to weigh -2.5 tons.

I heard in another thread the devs already made him:

Maybe if a dev reads this they can give us the story.

Oh I agree, people will want it, and like i said, mainly because it is iconic and hasn't been in a game since MPBT3025.

But most will languish because they won't be worth while, considering how games are right now.

EG, if it aint doing 130kph+ and/or has ECM, then its not worth using because it will likely get you killed quick.

Maybe I'm being pessimistic, or maybe I'm just voicing my deep dark thoughts about the current state of play and how folks seem unwilling to run other mechs than those that seem to have more pros than cons.

At the end of the day, I'd love for it to be in the game. I just think that once it gets here, it won't get used a great deal.

Your scetch is great but the urbanmech has no place in MinmaxWarrior Online because ballistics are useless on light mechs. To make it worth while for MinmaxWarrior you would need to replace ballistics with something else, and if u do this u don't have an urbanmech...u have a robot with guns.

I would buy one - even a hero only version - in a god damned heartbeat. Even if it sucked enormously I'd buy it.

That said, I'd like to see some quirks to make it at least marginally viable, so I'm not gimping my team when I field it (AND I WILL).

180 degree torso rotation and a massive twist speed buff (to compensate for the tiny engine, and result in a decent, quick twist speed).

Crazy-fast acceleration and braking.

It would be ok in "future defense missions" if they ever show up. Even now, you could use and urbie to defend your base in alpine from rampaging lights. A great torso turn speed would be important.

Remember the current rules simply add the weight of the gyro to them. The bigger issue is simply the lack of sub 100 engines in the Mechlab.

It's a slow garbage mech, you would be gimping a team for bringing one.

It wont make it into the game just because of that fact.

I'd rather have a disconnect then a urban mech. Imagine 2 or 3 of them on alpine? yeah,or that new desert map coming up.

The whole point of the urbie is to kill you with the shittiest mech possible, so dont insult the urbie in trying to make him 'better', he is perfect.

I voted maybe because I can only see a verry narrow use for the UrbanMech, and the clue is in the name. It would be next to useless on the open maps, so untill some sort of map selection option is introduced I cannot see the point of including the UrbanMech.

that said there are clearly some people who feal there is a place for it so I would not want to deny them the chance to pilot and die gloriously in an UrbanMech.
