Making sure the game is balanced and expansive at launch is going to get an audience. Not pandering for a pathetically small amount of people.

Lets see now...possibly the greatest MechWarrior in the franchise? Female. The pilot who finally manages to kill her? Female. Current leader of the richest and most industrially powerful Successor State? Female. Her predecessor, respected by all, a political and military mastermind, perfectly capable of untangling the numerous and multifarious plots against her by her own nobility? Female. Current (as of this point in the timeline) leader of one of the oldest and most widely respected mercenary units in the Inner Sphere? Female.
She comes into this and wants a ******* pink mech with D-cups?
Wow...

As we all know, (due too our robot CPUs we all know the same things) humans reproduced organically, however one of them got a strange attraction towards robots (yeah, gross) and then they all seemed to sort of disappear over the course of about 50 solar cycles.
Obviously there was something wrong with the one that thought robots have genders, or that females would somehow be more attracted to a game with feminine shaped robots. However, it freed us from the tyranny olf organics, so their loss was our gain.
The Robot council is not certain, but it seems likely that this thread was the beginning of the end of the human species.

I don't even...this isn't some ****** anime, it's battletech. Mechs are purpose-built war machines, they weren't built to be the prettiest girl at the dance. They don't have genders or personalities or some other nonsense. I'd say you had to be an obvious troll, but you have so many posts here...how can you have been in the game that long and not know this?
Most of the early battletech mechs came from Robotech which is, in fact, anime.

just wanna know
Pretty sure they're designed to look gender neutral and look like badass weapon platforms. A lot of them are timeless classics that you don't want to change. I'd say, the majority of Mechs girls would enjoy piloting.
If you're thinking that the pilot (the 3D model in the Mech) looks male, I can't really see any distinguishing features that would designate the pilot male or female. If there was somewhere where you could see the pilot properly, instead of just his feet and gloves, I would definitely be 100% for a female version pilot.
