April 1st Paul posts a huge blurb on how they will implement the Clans, everyone thinks he is joking and then April 2nd we find out that he was telling the truth.

i was thinking something along the lines of a mech announcement for a timberwolf on april fools, then suddenly Timberwolves and warhawks are everywhere on the 2nd.

1) because PGI made their bed so let them run with it
2) because I REALLY want to see this game move forward, giving precedence that they can pause the timeline willy-nilly won't be good.

And I'm not saying that there's stuff I wouldn't love to see that's already occurred ( I <3 you Annihilator, have my babies)

I don't think that any clan mechs were recovered until well into the invasion. Been a long time since I read the books, so I may be wrong... IS got rolled for a year before any sorts of victories were achieved and mechs could be salvaged. Also first clan mechs piloted by IS pilots were on occupied worlds where resistance movements were taking place...Or they were bondsman. So if they kept to schedule but delayed the mechs being available, I can go for that.

Now in counter to that, if faction clan affiliation was made available, but no mechs, then no I'd be a bit irritated that I get my clan affiliation and, I'm still running around in a hunchback heh.

On top of that, gotta remember the game is still beta. They may not release clan mech/tech till after beta is finished.

Side note question: Anyone know if only invasion clans are going to be available? I was an Ice Hellion throughout mw2-mw4, but they aren't invaders... If not it's cool I'll go Wolf or Ghost Bear, but just curious.
