I appreciate Paul taking time to answer questions and the random Dev posts here. But, as always happen when people don't communicate, mistakes happen. Paul said in the last "Ask The Devs" that when they expand to 12v12, all of the original maps would move to sizes roughly near Caustic Valley and Alpine Ridge. Yet, in this ATD, he said that old maps wouldn't change sizes. Meh, errors happen and, as he said, things are always changing based on feedback.

Hence me providing feedback:

Please give us assymetrical, objective-based, multiple objective mission types that "feel more like Battletech."

Splitting semantic hairs there and you know it. That was a specific response to a specific question which used the word 'missions' in the question itself. Assymetrical game modes such as defend/destroy ARE missions, especially if the objectives must be taken out in a specific order.

Again, you are complaining about 1 specific type of game play, the most hated type no less, is not being looked at for MWO but OTHER types of game play modes ARE being looked at...

HUH?

Again, you are putting words in my mouth (and I may be putting words in theirs.)

I'm not complaining.

I'm not even referring specifically to "Escort" missions, but rather just to the overall statement the answer makes regarding mission-based gameplay.

I'm even admitting I could be completely off base and, again, pushing for more and better gameplay options that are more fitting to the Battletech universe.

if thats the case 12v 12 is the thing that should be put last on the list of things to do. ever get 12 ppl on comms in 1 room? not very organized and clam. 8v8 is enough for a game like this. they should add more depth to it. different game modes, lobbies. more ways for them to make money, ie costume skin, a STORE to buy mech combos and win cbill boosters. idk y they are attached to the concept of 12v12. even MW4 atleast came out with 3 game modes.

MWO will have three game modes as well: Assault, Conquest and Dropship mode.

It's true that the 8 person chats get crazy sometimes haha, but I am looking forward to fighting alongside 11 other BattleMechs.

Also agreed that the current modes need more depth, I'm sure they will plump everything up in time.

Online Mission Play was a staple for me in MW4:Mercs.

This gamemode and the regular players on the Sunder Mission Play server were what kept the game going for me for so many years. The only reason I stopped was a HDD failure and Mektek's MTX would not play nice for me, making reinstallation impossible.

A remake of Royal Guard (Palace Defense), Avalon Base, Griffin Base and the 2 moon based maps whose names elude me (1 with tanks on both sides, and the other with a canyon and Dropship landing pad) in this engine would look stunning, and play would be very interesting.

For starters i'd be happy with real Team Deathmatch. I'd love a "Destroy the Enemy Base" gamemode too, so you'd actually have to bring at least a little firepower there, as bases should have some stationary defenses. Both shouldn't be too hard to implement.

Anything that feels a little more MechWarrior than that "stand in the middle of the magic glowing square" game. The core of this game really feels like MechWarrior, the gamemodes' objectives don't. It's frustratingly immersion breaking to me. This game has a BattleTech core. Among newer "fans" it is also played by BattleTech fans. Give us some BattleTech objectives.
