I think a better question to ask is why are we still stuck with them now that we have Matchmaking.

I know it's hard for the pros to hear, but they do have a right to play as well, MM will team them with you if they are looking for a game and the ELO needs to balance teams to a certain extent. Sometimes just a calm message in chat such as "Come with us xxxxx" is all it takes.

Perhaps it does. But, I don't think it's something players should be obligated to do. After a while, you start to get Dillahunty syndrome where you're constantly dealing with the same **** time and time again. You'd think playing together as a team, is given, being that it's a team base game. Yes, I would have liked ELO to alleviate this somewhat.

Running off alone is a beginner's mistake. As you play better your Elo score will slowly rise and you will no longer be dropping in matches with people who do this. I haven't been in a game where this happens since Elo was introduced.

That said, they will learn and improve (assuming they care to) and will eventually come to understand what works and what doesn't and how to improve and become a viable team asset.
No one (not even us elite players

Everyone started somewhere...

When you're 56 years old you will wonder why you cared about such petty crimes.
