Stop walking in front of people setting up their weapon groups?

The only time I'd contemplate a TK is if it was a RVN-3L.

Make sure you are in a Stalker with 2 Large Laser, 4 Medium Laser, and 4 SRM6. When someone hurt you just blow it up :)

The never tell you if they ban anyone, i.e. they don't. Not enough players or payers to risk it.

No game tells you if they ban someone.

write a support ticket the format I personally use is

"Player name:
His mech type:
Game Map:
Game Type:
Time of the game and local time zone: (aka 3:45Pm CST)
What happened and any text said before and after the tk.
"

Had to fill out two of these in the last month.

So no game bans people. If they don't tell you it's obviously so they can just act like they are doing something, while not risking losing players. There's no reason they can't tell you if someone you reported got banned. Well no real reason, other than covering up that they don't ban anyone. There's no legal restriction, only their weak policy which exists only to cover their *****. So basically no point in reporting. Best move is to simply leg them, no tk for you, they are gimped for the round. Even if you TK them, most folks are too lazy to go jump through the hoops to complain and like I said no one gets banned. Vigilante justice is basically how they want us to deal with it and I'm ok with that.
Also based on interaction with support, all the data is pointless. They don't look for specific matches, they just check how many TKs you and the person you complain about have. So again, more wasted time if you give them lots of data.

As Bilbo said, report ticket. Or play in 8 man groups. You never get intentionally TK'd in them. :)

Whaaaa? The's the fun of 8 man drops. TKing :D

As was said, report them. Send an email to support.

Let's face it, there are people out there whose primary goal is to make the game less enjoyable for everyone else (or everyone not in their cliques or some such), including their own teammates.

If there's a way they can make the game less pleasant, they'll do it. Sometimes that breaks the rules, like team killing, and you should report them.

That's incorrect, plenty of games ban people and don't tell anyone. Just look around online games and you'll see, but usually the only way you find out is if the banned ones say something (or friends of theirs).

Why don't they publish the list of people banned? Same reason we're not allowed to post name and shame threads.

Honestly,

If a teamate shoots me once I let it go, second time I say something, third time I give em an alpha to the cockpit and watch em pop like a zit. Mind you, this is only at the beginning of the match when the enemy is nowhere in sight that I react this way. Other than that friendly fire is part of frantic battles.

There really should be a /report feature in game for this.. or at least some primitive vote system for the tked player to determine whether to forgive the tker or not.

I've been in a game where I was walking behind a Stalker and a Catapult Alpha striked into the guy's back. The guy turned around shot ME! I didn't even have missiles on my loadout! So please don't jump to conclusions unless you know who did it.

No, lots of games say they ban people. They don't list people nor tell anyone who reports who they ban, thus no one knows if they ban anyone. If you think an F2P with a small niche audience is actually banning players and potential customers based on what the company says absent any evidence, well ok. :)

Yeah, how do I know how much Alpha damage I can do to the backside of an Atlas without, you know, shooting the backside of a friendly Atlas?

Not entirely related but last night was in RCN and was sure I saw an enemy Hunchie start pummelling my team-mate in the back down a dark alley. I aimed at his back and got the kill after two AC20 rounds and some laserfire. Then I saw the TK message. I was dead sure he was behind my ally, not in front of him! I apologized profusely, but the other legit kill I got hardly made up for it. Sorry, guy with all the numbers in your name! :)

As the original post implies, there is no question about friendly fire being apart of this game. It happens in fire fights. Sometimes it is the fatal shot.

However, if it is happening at the start of the match, I think we have to try to think about the motivations for it.

1. People are goofing around. Content has been lacking in this game, entertainment is going to arise from anything that breaks the monotony of the game, including a player wondering whom he was shot by. It's unfortunate but it happens and is usually driven by the following two points.

2. Maybe a player chooses to continuously pilot a mech chassis or chassis variant they know is bolstered by bugs that are present in the game. Visitors to these forums have a good idea of which mechs are in question.

3. Maybe a player made a post to the forums that was overly opinionated, caused offense to another person, or one that could only serve to provoke a negative exchange.

There are probably a few other reasons, but it could be that all of them are driven by the lack of fulfilled entertainment. And the best way to avoid being the subject of attention for team kills, would be to avoid doing the things that blatantly aggravate others.
