This isn't the first time, double heatsinks being singles in the engine...found by a player
The 1.4 being double in the engine...found by a player (we meant to do that)

the testing done by all these players, originally done for SRM and SSRM damage, have opened a whole flood of issues. LRMs doing more damage and documented Raven 3L hit box issues to name a few. Heck in some ways it explains all the 3L hate because, as it turns out its SSRMs are (in some cases) doing 800% more damage.
#1[color="#b27204"]Amaris the Usurper[/color] needs to be given a job at PGI, this guy has started the ball rolling on SRM, SSRM, LRM, and possably 3L balance changes... which is what the community complanes about all the time.
oh and the Devs explnation, was that when splash was implmented, the mechs had simplier hit boxes vs the ones we are seeing now, not sure if i buy that because Jenners are taking more damage then they should be. but they keep trying to fix LRMs, we have had what four changes to them? That shows me that PGI saw an issue and was trying to fix it. However, it seems that the root problem has been the splash damage all along and once that gets fixed, things should start balancing out correctly

Anyone who claims they haven't died to LRM either
1) Gets dropped long before they become primary
2) Runs ECM
Seriously. Half the people int his thread I've ever run or against - all of whom have eaten the steel rain from Oni's launchers at some point.

If LRMs are fine, why are the Devs taking out splash damage?

all Missiles are doing, in some cases, more damage than intended, in some cases 800% more. There is a post in the patch feedback section. Click, read, and be enlightened.

I use LRMs a lot and I've seen a change, too. They concentrate too much on center torso. You can even see the difference when you observe the flightpath. It doesn't even make a difference if it is a large mech or a small mech, when I shoot LRMs at lights they suddenly get cored where before their whole armor would have been damaged and some missiles just impact around them because of weapon spread.

Light mechs do not have the LRM problem. You can literally outrun them.
Try using a heavy or assault without ECM (don't bother with AMS; no one is running it these days so you don't get the AMS battalions of yore).

According to the numbers posted, LRMs are actually do less damage than expected in live games against bigger mechs,

So now I'm running around in my Spider 5D, 9000 xp away from Mastering it. 20 days of premium time left, out of MC, and not planning on buying more.
I had a thread locked where the moderator reminded me that degrading the experience of other players was prohibited. Maybe PGI should follow their own rules with that one, because some of the stuff in this game right now significantly degrades the player experience. LRMS and SRMS that do too much damage, Streaks+ECM+target Decay mod+Raven 3L, and several other minor issues.

there's a myriad ways that even a great pilot can be killed by lrm, in particular if there's a bunch of boats on the other team, if it's such a bad weapon then a team of 8 lrm boats would be obliterated 8-0 every time huh? or how about 16 players all with LRM, i guess nobody dies?? everyone is alive at the end of the clock? LOL.
it's a weapon that can catch you by surprise if you're slow, and if it misses you can launch another couple of hundred of them.

seeing as the SRM topic was started less than three days ago, i think PGI is moving rather quickly. they are most likley doing other things then just removing splash, mabye tuning missle damage? reguardless, my point is that they are moving quickly to the attention of the community.
i cant recall other games where devs responded as fast, usaly things like this take months to be addressed, and we got two weeks. now i know they are not fixing it, just removing it, but it is somthing.
PGI takes our issues seriously, to me at least. they probly all sit around and talk about "what are the fourms complaning about and how can we fix it?" Lag shield - PUG stomps - LRMs - ECM, all things that we have b*tched about and they have fixed or are trying to fix.
try to give them some credit and besides, this game is still in beta and as testers this what we are supost to be going throu, finding issues before the game goes live.

Its nothing to do with politics, you claimed if it wasn't true it wouldn't get lots of views.
Fox news proves otherwise, they have been proven wrong multiple times and still get millions of view. Views mean nothing.
And I was addressing the person saying they were 2-3 times damage, which is incorrect and a training grounds bug.

and yes lrms were made a little too powerful last patch, they're gonna fix it afaik
