Who cares what a gaming site thinks?

gamers generally

maybe they could use the splash damage glitch thing as a way to my the lbx-ac10 a tad more viable (since it only does 1 dmg per pellet and all)

This is aimed at the people who use the 'It's a BETA' argument incorrectly. And by incorrectly I mean trotting it out in an effort to silence legitimate feedback. It happens and it happens OFTEN on these boards. Lets put an end to that please.

Because there is a difference between whining and giving legitimate feedback .
And if MWO is not a beta than it is a incomplete buggy game with missing features ...

Beta just sounds better ;-) So stop whining and go back giving valuable feedback ;-)

I do give valuable feedback and then I'm told "It's Beta", hence thread.

I thought the widely accepted definition of Beta was "an incomplete version of software that is available outside the company that developed it for purposes of testing"...
Yes, the Devs are asking for money. It's just like a band asking for money for their demo so they can release an EP/album - it's so money can go toward the final product.

There are internal Betas as well, so no.

The term Beta has gone through a lot of changes over the years. Alpha is the old Closed Beta and Open Beta is pretty much just release.

Except in this case there is no final product. There's really no reason for them to ever drop the 'beta' label and claim they've launched the game, especially if it will continue shielding them from unfavorable reviews (like it is now).

As someone said a few pages back, CW is also not going to somehow elevate this game to EVE status. At best we'll have some vaguely connected world map with bases or planets taken after X victorious matches against the defending faction. Rewards could be decent incentives however, like discounts on certain weapons and equipment and uh... That's about it really. I doubt a heat dissipation bonus for controlling a planet would fly very well with this player base.

So what are you saying? That the "Beta" label is just some conspiracy to keep gamers playing a game they think they are testing, when really there are no improvements being made to the game and the developers are sitting around watching donkey poon all day while their retirement funds pour in?

Perhaps one day we'll boot the game up to see a blank screen and discover that PGI and IGP never actually existed and some middle aged shark faked the copyright license for Battletech, copypastad data from MW3 into Cryengine3, ran a server from his mum's basement and had the world fooled for nearly 2 years before disappearing with everyone's money never to be seen again?

Just enjoy the f*cking game for what it is.

Tell you what, why don't you calm down a little and stop trying to make a ridiculous point. Whatever the hell it is.

Im curious as to their possible motivation to EVER launch as well.

unless you play for free, then they can't really play you for anything XD
(I'm not paying a dime untill they either release a zeus or the game comes out of beta and is worth the money)

There is no stat-reset when the game launches one day. So this is not a real Beta.

Well *puts tinfoil hat on* I heard that they already have plenty of maps and mechs finished but aren't releasing them. I also heard they used all the founder money to start development on MW:Tactics. that's what I herd.

Then again there are games that when released are literally unfinished alpha builds that the developers even call "a mess of blown out code" that take the better part of a year just to get WORKING that JUST... WONT... DIE

IE: http://www.metacriti...lords-of-winter

Total War games always get 90+% by reviewers and those games have garbage multiplayer.

I can't recall much "wrong" with Shogun 2 i regards to MP Vs. SP, however the new line of sight rules in Rome 2 I'm looking forward to checking out.
