Of course you like it, that's the point. Who would say "Oh, I suddenly have a lower heat – what a bad feature!"? The problem is that it dumbs down heat management and encourages boating and reckless alphaing without second thoughts to the consequences. Because thanks to Coolant Flush, there ARE no consequences. At least less than before.

I'm wondering if you have actually used it, you can't use it like override. I run it as a fail safe, not as a primary system. On the contrary to what a lot of people think, it requires good heat management to use effectively.

They should make it so that coolant comes as standard on every mech, and each time you use it, it costs 10,000 CBills to refill, deducted from your score at the end of the match.

No, this would mean that it would be used far more often. Multiple times a match would be overpowering. You could still use it 7+ times on a loss and still make a profit.

Originally I said:

I should have added that it could only be used once per match, thanks for catching that. Just that it would be available to every mech that wishes to use it, without need for attaching it each match, and also being fully aware it would cost you 10,000 CBills.

i dont get why people are so RAWR over it, the damn thing is useless, gives you MAYBE one more alpha per match, ya know how many games ive been in where one alpha would have made a differnce umm zero.

Simple - the equivalent effect would be that all ballistic boats that have less fear of heat gains a +20% ammunition reload once per match.

Or that missile mechs gains the same on reloads.

Personally i dont think it does that much but in a competitive game it skirts the borders for "Pay for Advantage" that directly affects combat unlike XP bonus or cash bonus.

I can sort of see where you're coming from with this; The guy who doesn't pay attention to his heat, and can't predict where that "one too many" line is, won't benefit from coolant anyway, as he'll just shut down before he gets to use it.

Flush too early and you've wasted a valuable resource, and given away an advantage - Flush too late and you may as well have not taken any coolant at all.

In order to gain any benefit you need to be as aware of your heat as anyone else would be, either to know exactly when to lay off the guns, or when lay-on the coolant.

I wouldn't call it supa-skill, men from the boys stuff, but it's not exactly a noob-crutch either, and doesn't really dumb anything down, that line of argument is just the typical knee-jerking this forum excels at.

Enjoying it. Allready secured me some kills that would have been impossible without it due to me being dead or a teammate finishing the job instead.

My LRMS don't run very hot.

With the LRM nerf all the whingers are screaming for now, we should be able to get the propeller-driven LRMs soon. Much, much cooler running.
