sigH.

Better, but for guns weighing 14/15 tons they look downricht puny. Heck compare it to the Centurions right arm even.

Kudos for effort, but totally not impressed with the result.

True the could have done better - like changing the models for various types of AC - but it is an improvement over what we had.

they do look a lot better bigger. In the current model, theres room around the rim to just scale the barrel bigger. fingers crossed for change someday

but i won't stare a gifthorse in the face

I'm happy with the change but a little less so with how it was done.

I feel they should be longer by 50-75% with a bit of a taper. They look fine for an AC/2 but we are swapping out some pretty large PPCs, I think the torso should somewhat reflect the equally large gauss and AC/20.

***EDIT***
Saw that the gauss rifles had their own geometry and reviewd in the mechlab. Am now 99% happy with the changes. Excellent work PGI!

For what it's worth, this is what the gauss barrels currently look like:

(No, I'm not going to equip them just for screenshots - I have no use for a gauss boat in my lineup.)

Freakin, awesome.

Amazing, seriously, added so much flavor to the Jager and the K2.

Thank you so much PGI. I can't wait to see this on the rest of the mechs!

Now put an AC20 on a RVN-4X. Something tells me they skipped that one, but it would be pretty awesome if they took the changes that far. Heck, you can fit a UAC5 on a SPD-5K. I'll be checking that out in a bit since that's next on my purchase list so i can unlock elite on my 5D.

Smaller but not terribly different from the Atlas' cannon, just without the 'can' underneath. Also, they appear larger than the Trebuchet 7K's left torso cannon. I think if they'd have gone larger they would've had trouble with it hitting the hip while torso-twisting. There's only so much they can do without considerably altering the model.

I really like they're doing this. Hopefully when you crit them or they are destroyed the barrel falls off or dangles by structure and wires and flops around.

if you look at the weapon mount in the first picture. its looks like the AC20 barrel has room around the rim to be bigger.

fingers crossed for change in size sometime in future.

Try the ultras. I don't own a K2 but I've heard some people say that they have a different model.

No. Same model for all autocannons at the moment. Only the gauss is different.

Oh I admit, almost anything is better than nothing. But about a month ago I ran a fanart thread discussing this very thing. And it literally would have taken no more effort on their part to do the scale correctly, than to release inaccurate ones. Heck they look just like the dinky ones floating around the repaint thread that caused to to work on an upscaled version.

I don't get why workinout a decent scale with benchmarks is so drinking hard around here. Hell, take the ac20 off a drinking Atlas model, or the arm off a Dragon, or Cent. Slap it onto the side of the bloody Cat model. There is your scale. Work a little magic blending it in and done. I guess part of my frustration is that they had a cleanslate opportunity to be the first MW title, even TT to finally NOT Bork the scale up. And we get a Catapult that is bigger than anything but an Atlas, gonzo nutzoid 50 tonners, and an art department that took the time to try to address the K2, which I DO appreciate, but then they slap medium laser sized guns on it to represent the 2 heaviest cannon ingame, and they are smaller than the uac5 model on the dragon or jager.

I don't wanna be a punk about it, but I just can't grin and say ZOMG ITS SO PERFECT, when it isn't. Sorry pgi art guys, not trying to pee in your cheerios.

Aw man. I was hoping they put some rotary-type barrel assembly in like on the 3M. Well, thanks for confirming.

Ha ha! Dangley bits.

In all seriousness though, this looks great, thanks for sharing the screenshots.
