That's amazing! The fact you can make them in different poses is even cooler.

I know you can't monetize them but what about trading for my premium supply of home-made mead?

Perhaps you could offer to cover the cost of the materials plus shipping (of course, shipping can vary wildy depending on where you are) in trade for one of the figures? That way, the item is not being sold, and they are not making a profit from said item, you're just reimbursing them for the cost of materials and their time.. :o

Hmmm 70 bucks for the shipping? OK, no problem!

There you go. When shipping items on a global scale, the cost can fluctuate greatly; especially when including Expedited and Insurance. :D

Fair enough. Was just a suggestion. Not that I'm trying to think of a way to acquire one myself :o

alright since the last patch introduced custom weapon models to the catapult i figured i'd change my model to reflect the catapult I run ingame, and here's the result.
It currently carries 2 ERPPC's 2 medium lasers and a Gauss with 20 shots and an AMS.
I'm going to print this at TT size first. before blowing it up to 1:60 scale

Did you have to make those changes from scratch, or were you able to find them in the files?

they are in the files, but they mainly made the details on the gauss with normal maps. so i had to add all the panels and vents to the gauss myself as model detail cause a normal map doesnt translate into a 3d print.

How do you setup your model for 3d printing? Does it have to be one single full "shell". Intersections of many smaller parts are not allowed, I suppose.

You can intersect the model till the cows come home. what you can't do however is have open models. every single object in your file has to be solid. and that took a while to do seeing as pgi's models are a giant collection of seperate pieces with open faces

Really really cool!

Good job.

Now some colors, airbrushed gun smoke, mud and partial damage for a used style.

Odanan, you can start the official 3d printing thread. Officially as long as no one is making money on these thend PGI is all for it..They are just as frustrated about merchandising as we are. It's a potential revenue stream that is currently blocked. If anyone is willing to share their models for use with other people's printers then there is no problem.

Really ? So... If Odanan agreed to create a model for me and I reimburse him for the cost of his materials & shipping, then PGI would not have any complaints ?

It's not the PGI that does the complaining. That is Topps, which owns exclusive rights to Btech miniature rights.

But I think you're right.

I dream of the day 3D printers are a household item. I just can't live with the TT miniatures, most of them are absolutely hideous.
