Here are the HUD-related bugs I've experienced so far since the patch yesterday. Keep in mind that prior to this patch I only experienced maybe 1-2 HUD bugged matches in an entire week or two of play.
  • Color palette washout (the enemy mech icons on the minimap are a fuzzy pink instead of a sharp bright red like they should be. friendly mechs are a soft blue instead of a strong blue like they should be). This bug exhibits every match and appears to be a design decision, albeit a terrible one
  • Missing radar targeting features (no carats above mechs, no targeting brackets, no mech names or displays). Cursor still works. LRMs can still lock but you don't know what to lock them onto except by blind luck.
  • Broken minimap (minimap box is empty, it doesn't display the map)
  • Frozen minimap (where it's stuck in one orientation and doesn't turn with your mech).
  • "WWWWWWW" mech name
  • I just had a bug where I felt like I was watching a replay of myself after I died, because my cockpit view was stuck on the screen despite me watching someone else on my team who was still alive. The best part is they were running a Cicada or something else with 4 lasers, and the game was making it look to me like I was still in my Spider, so it looked like my Spider that only fits 2 lasers on it was shooting four lasers (from my screen's perspective).

    Also, the buttons you can usually use to switch between your living teammates' views weren't there. It was freaking trippy because it looked like my mech came back alive and was still alive and playing for itself, until I realized what was happening.



  • Another one: Radar targets show up on minimap, and i get the upper right-hand box showing target details, but I get no target boxes on my main screen around any enemies or any playernames above them. Makes it hard to confirm who's friendly and who's enemy in a crowd. Just restarted the client to see if that will fix it, after having it happen two matches in a row.



  • And one more: Arm aiming circle cursor and the line connecting it to the center wigged out and were pushed way over to one side whenever I accelerated the mech.

  • Just had another one: Complete HUD missing. Looks like you're in Shift+F11 mode, only it's permanent for the entire match.

I've also encountered the missing mech info (friend and foe) when crosshairs are hovering over the mech twice now. If there's a skirmish going on, it makes determining which side you're shooting at near impossible. I've had this in two sepparate matches now, one in Alpine and one on a map I've forgotten now.

I've also had one game with excessive delay on friendly specific info, resulting in me team killing when they were standing between me and a targeted enemy mech. It wasn't until my laser fire had already gone off that the friendly's name appeared on my HUD.

Most of this is memory corruption becoming worse...

Point #1 however seems like they made the map transparent a bit.

Yupp, every big patch it gets all screwed up again.

Also had two HUD bugs. One match with no HUD at all and another just without mech markings and without targeting boxes.

I have had these bugs at one point or another. A big one that I got was a bug with the throttle that starts drawing the throttle bar outside the outline. Here's a picture.

This was an annoying bug rather than game breaking. It could be if you were trying to get a more precise look at your speed.

Got a new one that i've only seen since the new hotfix, fwiw:

I can confirm all of theses also. The "wwwwwww" one is really old though.

Wow, so many HUD bugs since the last major patch! Oh my. I have had several matches this morning already with some of them present.

Just had a new one - complete HUD missing, as if running in Shift+F11 mode, but I wasn't. Tried everything, nothing got it working. Ended up identifying an enemy mech (they were shooting at me, which was about the only way to tell), and just did a suicide run at them, in order to contribute SOMETHING for my team before dying. Ugh.

I only rarely had any HUD bugs before this one.

In the last four matches I encountered:
- Two times most enemies were invisible on radar. I couldn't tell friend from foe anymore. And I thought ECM was bad...
- A strange HUD bug: I couldn't bring up the large map and the small map showed a wierd neon-colored chessboard.
- I the same match most of my own damage info was missing.

This is really bad, makes playing really hard.

Getting a yellow mouse arrow on my hud randomly.

Stays until I do a full restart of MWO..

Moves faster than my mech turns so it wanders all over the place

I have a new one, and reproduceable. Reliably.

When the match starts, and while the mech boots up. (while chekcing weapons and sensors and stuff). If i type something in the chat during the sequence it displays it in the chat box, but it ALSO accepts the keys as control commands. I usually type "gl, hf" at the start of every match, and i have bound alpha strike to the F key.... several poor teammates did not have fun during those matches, due to alpha strikes in their back... very annoying.

I just encountered a new HUD bug (new to me, anyway).

After the power up sequence, I had NO HUD at all. It was as if I was still powered down. As soon as I started moving (i.e. adjusted the throttle), the HUD flashed into appearance, like it powered up. At first I thought it was just a delay in HUD refresh or something, but it turned out that EVERY TIME I STOPPED, the HUD would turn itself off.

I don't think I've ever encountered anything quite like this. This was on River City Night, FWIW.

Also, I got massive video lag when I was moving, the HUD was on, and I was seeing weapons fire in thermal mode, but this may not be related -- in the past I've had issues with frame rate in thermal mode. This may be an old issue cropping up this time around.

I've also encountered a HUD bug where the IFF triangles are missing on the main cockpit window display. Weirder still, some times it mostly works until I zoom in, and then they disappear until I zoom out again.

Wanted to add a new bug I encountered last night. Just a bit after the game started and my mech was moving on the new desert map my mini map on the HUD starting spinning like a needle in a compass. Sometimes very fast and sometimes slower. The red and blue triangles showed up and the sector locations like d4, e5 etc but because they were spinning round and round it was very dis-orientating. I had to use the commanders map in order to find out where I was actually heading.

Have had hosered minimap too many times lately. No IFF, Q does not show friendlies, minimap is blank.

Also have had Tab and escape function as alt-tab.

Did a clean windows install, all updates, newest drivers all around, and clean MWO install because I thought it was related to my PC. The problems still persist.

Had pretty much all the HUD bugs at once ;)

Havn't had the rainbow minimap since patch, but I only had it once before the patch and that was on Alpine.

999% heat! Too bad I didn't get infinite heat, just another UI bug

Also the speed had the same bug as DIGI7AL a bit later in the round but forgot to screencap.
