Oh, damn it...

90% of us voted against that, there's no way in hell that they can't pay attention to that. I think it will only be in the testing grounds... well, at least I hope so...

Yes, and they were never gonna put coolant into the game, because of the fact it makes heat a joke, and turns everything into biggest alpha, always.

Right?

while not exactly the same, i just thought of something. recently I purchased a 2013 2SS chevy camaro. I paid a nice 5 digit sum for the car, and on Friday I get my THIRD steering wheel. See, I am their customer, and as such, that entitles me to expect a certain level of perfection in my purchase. See, no where did it say: your car comes with faulty leather or trim on your steering wheel.

IF it was handled like MWO i could be expected to sit back and take it, but, since, it is real world, and since I paid money I am entitled to expect that perfection, and for my car to live up to its advertised features, including a decent steering wheel free from defects.

to draw the line to MWO: I paid 60 bucks for a game that has no 3rd PV, and have a right to expect them to adhere to how it was sold to me. that is not entitlement, that is getting and demanding exactly what I paid for.

As to the rest, I see so much exploiting in this game, teams verse randoms, tiny terror mechs, unforgiving auto aim long range weapons, that it is hard to imagine it could be more imbalanced. What I see, is the same community that wants ECM gone so they can spam LRM, wants ELO gone so they can win almost all the time, and wants team sizes increased so they can take a 6 man versus randoms. I see a community that does not enjoy good fights, and I point to the empty 8 man queue as proof. I see this same community arguing against third person view. Alot of gamers prefer it, and it would grow the community.

Oh good god. Two thirds of the people in this thread are constantly post arguing, debating and so forth about weapon balance and how it can be improved and what needs fixing. Infact, I've seen members of all three of the LRM camps (the 'Tweak it more maybe?' or 'Sane' crowd and the 'OMGZOP' and 'WTFUPL2P' crowds) in this thread and I'm fairly sure I've never seen them agree on anything before. Most of the people here want good fights, with balanced weapons. That's a large part of why a lot of people avoid the 8v8 queue, they don't want to be forced into using pure Apex builds all the time when there's all of four such builds.

So the "The people who don't want 3POV are all 'sploitin ******** and can go **** themselves." angle won't fly, sorry. 3POV isn't a weapon you can correct with balance tweaks, it's a fundamental quality of gameplay that will dictate the path the game will take. Based on past evidence, that won't be a good path.

No you see they said there would never be any Coolant Pods in the game. Pods! These are clearly not pods. Therefore your argument is invalid.

What have you done but complain on a game forum? Integrity, what? You must be a comedian.

If you don't know, then you must be rather new. It's not important what I do, however, as it's not my integrity that's being questioned here, and I'm not the one lying to the people who gave me money to bring me to where I'm at.

I think you should focus on the issue at hand, sir, and stop trying to derail. You'll find that people are quite, quite mad today, which is why there are no goons or greens in here. They'd get shredded.

Mechwarrior 4 is a bad game. PGI's decisions and lies will turn this into MW4.

That's fact. Please go away. Weapon imbalances isn't even remotely related to a broken system you must base everything around, especially when we know it's gonna be broken.

Don't open the can of worms. Leave well enough alone.

3rd person is no more a can of worms than the ELO match maker. Its steps taken towards the end of growing the players base. Something of great importance. All issues relating to balance and enjoyment are relevant.

The biggest arguments for third person come from people who have the audacity to say that because they lack rudimentary spatial awareness the game should cater to them. It's not about immersion, it's not about depth. It's about people being so daft that a light mech can core them from behind and they are helpless.

Third person will never save these people and instead turn the battlefield into an environment they would have never wished on themselves. I like the guy above talking about tiny terrors as well. If you have no defense weapons or just can't aim that's your problem not something that should be made easier for you. Lights have never been easier to kill. If you are in the steering-wheel underhive and can't handle your input device of choice that's on you as well.

There is nothing to discuss yet. A twitter rumor holds no grounds for serious discussion. It's already know that (including me) a majority of the forum users don't want third person. Until we have more details it's just going to be arguing over nothing.

So I've heard through a clan member that PGI don't plan on including third person view in online modes (so for now limited to training grounds, and in the future lan gameplay). Not entirely sure where he got that info from (or if it's even just speculation on his behalf) - but that to me sounds like a pretty reasonable compromise erring in favour of the no third person view crowd if it's to be believed.

But then these threadnoughts filled with endless tears would seem to run contrary to any sort of public mention of that tidbit.

Don't get why something that is payed for means complains become self-entitled.

If I go buy a car and I want one with heated seats, they tell me it has them. I buy it and find out it doesn't or they don't work, I take the thing back and get my money back or get what I payed for.

I've never understood why the gaming industry doesn't work like that. People have stated all the very clear things the devs have said in promoting this game. If they completely break from that, its not 'self-entitled' to complain about it. If they payed they deserve what they payed for. Can't change it after they payed for it.

Videogame companies, indies especially, are currently pretending they're hot ****, so anyone who disagrees is a bigot, entitled, and should just go code his own game.

This works against teenagers, but the old men who post here, and paid 120 dollars for gold tags, 100 dollars for camo and colors, and 30 dollars for the pretty baby? Oh my god, no. They're making critical mistakes. Remember, this is the first day of coolant, too.

Most haven't even logged in. They'll all be aware of what's going on come friday. Old men, 'with more money than sense,' all share an important characteristic. They had to learn common sense before they got all the money. You lie or try to backstab them, common sense kicks back in, and you don't get a penny. They'll likely argue for bait and switches with their banks.

PGI calls the golds ENTITLED!? Yeah, that'll do a lot. Maybe they can snark a bit extra in the threads, instead of being big boys and girls and coming clean with their intentions?

If they're in North America you should realize they were sleeping, in regard to this current event.

So I heard from a clan member that PGI weren't gonna include coolant in the game, and would never add MC abilities you can purchase, because tactical advantages for money, no matter how small, still turn your game into a mockery.
