This thread is outrage based on a snippet of a twitter post that doesn't present the full commentary.
It's the MWO General Forums for the past few moments on crack.
I disagree, alot of vets and players that want the game to suceed have posted here with overall the same message, i think the bigest outrage you see here is the continual going back on their word. That twiter post didnt tell us that they would introduce it at a given stage but obviously their staff knows its in the works, WHEN they told us it never would be,same as the Flushes.
Its a breach of trust and sad to say its AGAIN.

Edit: I totally heard a staff member say that earlier!

Most simulation games ironically do have 3rd person view. Remember the old F-16 Fighting Falcon game? F-22 Lightning? Jane's flight combat simulations? Those were pretty popular back in the days of Simulation games. And they all had 3rd person / free fly camera. Space combat sim, Freespace 2 had 3rd person camera ( and it was one of the best space combat sim by critiques ).
Now for modern games? ARMA series? That title is claimed by numerous of PC hardcore fans as a modern military simulation. And guess what, it has 3rd person. Yup. 3rd person on a military sim. And you know what, ARMA has a wonderful community and it keeps growing until today.
And since "some people" mentioning that they will jump ship to War Thunder once PGI implemented the 3rd person camera, they're just being hypocrites. War Thunder is a 3rd person game.
And in all fairness, Mechwarrior 2, 3 and 4 also had the 3rd person camera. So why go all zealotry 1st person only now?
And even better if 3rd person can bring in some new fresh players. I personally rather have a community which has a player base of 10.000.000 strong rather than 1000 hard core fans. It wont do any good to the developers that are already trying their best to revive the franchise. Mechwarrior ( or Battletech if you please ) by the end of the day will still be a little franchise that nobody aware of.
So what's the big deal guys? Pop tarts you say? Heck we already have them in the game right now.
People will be able to peek from corners without exposing themselves? That's goat ****. They still need to expose themselves when they're going to shoot.
Scared to change much? Proooooooooobablyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.....................................................

I don't agree with rain on most subjects, hell many of the people here who I am agreeing with I've disagreed with in the past privately if not openly but yeah this needs a clearing up and a simple response that is quick would be most appreciated.
Someone needs to take a stand and figure this stuff out overall(community war/clans/etc) but at the moment a response to this is urgently required.
Say no to 3rd person view. I am the rational one stop making me seem fanatical PGI!
Sorry for any structure or wording errors, I am kinda out of it..

Hahaha oh wow, you're in full denial aren't you? Else they're paying you real good.
Stages of golden denial, for reference.
1: There aren't any details, only rumors!
2: These are details, but wait until it's in-game to whine about it!
3: I don't see a problem with it, therefore everyone else is wrong and entitled!
4: Where is everyone?

Those games were made for singleplayer, and multiplayer was ruined by poptarters and other terrible things, that will happen here. They're not remembered for their great, awesome multiplayer, you know.
MW4 is pretty much reviled because of the poptarting.

It was foretold that we'd get a casual MW4 with goldsinks, gold ammo, coolant, and poptarts The prophecy is coming true in every way, and they're feeding founder money to MW: tactics.
Enjoy.
So that's why people always say "If you want Battletech rules, play MW:Tactics" - they just want us to go where our money already went?

I respect that. But to be fair, even right now we already have pop tarts everywhere. Jumping LRM cats and jumping cataphract 3d's mostly. And by the end of the day, it will still be "those guys with jumpjets" that will still be poptarting.
Note: excuse me for my grammar. I don't use english as my primary language

I like how this picture proofs that there are gamers who really wants third person view xD And that PGI could make money of them.
More money = more MWO
Which of course means that it doesn't have to be a better MWO :-P
I would like a TPV IF it doesn't give any advantage over first person view!
