I'll let you decide if LRM's are still worth keeping around.

So... because you can't one-shot an assault to the CT, they're garbage?

Much needed change IMHO.

I don't know what you define as lrmboats, but the Stalkers that are the most common lrmboats carry at least 60lrms. And I certainly would not run towards 80 damage and laugh while doing it.

I don't usually see many stalkers. Other then after this last patch I haven't seen many lrm boats at all.

I'll address you directly, but this one goes out to others too saying the same thing. Are you guys not understanding what happened there? I did not shoot "one volley", I shot five. So I'm not sure where you got that "2 shots" will now kill an enemy. If we are now assuming that it takes two similar volleys as shown here, that means it takes 10 shots to kill an enemy. Nobody in their right mind is running a 5x LRM20 stalker. That is a joke build made for one purpose only; to test out the extreme situation with LRM's, and in such an extreme situation yes I fully expect to wreck my target when conditions are so perfect for it. If anyone thinks it was easy before to run a joke build like 5x LRM20 stalker and totally dominate, you are sorely mistaken. That thing moves like a snail and gets totally wrecked by ecm and light mechs.

The conclusion should be clear from what you've seen here; LRM's are not worth their tonnage anymore. If someone thinks its a good idea to bring in a weak weapon and call it a "support weapon", then by all means knock yourself out. But for the rest of us who are looking for effective builds and weapons, having such a huge weapon type to be a lot less than optimal is a huge game breaker.

Would five ppc's have killed said cataphract in one alpha from the front?

No

You just have no clue and open ya mouth or click anything on ya keyboard to express your anger while your op advantage is gone

ppc's don't have the drawbacks either.

Well they are by far the best lrmboats and certainly the mech most commonly used for that purpose.

No apparently Im in a higher elo bracket then you.
Because lrms are useless. Only thing they have ever been good for was killing noobs and bad players.

I wonder how many of these guys who say "support role" or "they're fine" actually run with LRM boats. I'm guessing zero. They're too hard and fast in love with their "I win" gauss and PPC builds.

It is a plain fact that LRM the way they are now are worthless. You can hide, you can dodge, you can block their targeting, and you can destroy them. You can't do any of those things with PPC or gauss.

Isn't that the truth.

Guess I'll just go back to my direct fire sniper builds for long range. I hate to though cuz they are just soo easy it drives me nuts.

I don't know what my score is.

All I know is that i never see lrms unless I run med mechs which is my worst weight and therefore my loweest elo. In my higher elo weight classes I almost never saw lrm builds and they generally got eaten failrly fast.

Mind you I haven't played since the last patch and the lrm bug.

Are you saying the sacred lore and sarna are wrong?

OMG...he fired 100 missiles.

If he was even a normal boater with 40 lrms that mech would have laughed at him, ran up and eaten him for dinner.

If he had 40 LRM tubes, I'd hope he had some supplemental weapons in his loadout.

Also not sure I'd call 2x LRM-20s a "boat", at least not in the assault class.
